Amateur tomato Fairy Tale: advantages and disadvantages, description of agricultural technology, reviews

Description of the variety and its origin

The Skazka tomato has been known in gardening circles since about 2011-2012. Today its seeds are produced by the Ukrainian manufacturer GL Seeds and private farms. Among the latter is TM Semenasm (also Ukraine). The brand's products are used by tomato growers from the Russian Federation and Belarus.

Attention! Practice shows that tomatoes are able to grow and bear fruit normally in all regions of the Russian Federation suitable for farming. Open ground is more suitable for him. In a greenhouse, crop productivity is lower.

The tomato is a low-growing but highly branched plant. During the growing season, the bush produces 3-4 stepson shoots. You can not remove them or leave 2-3. The leaves are large and dark. They thickly cover the stems.

The fruits of the crop are a slightly flattened sphere (see photo). The pulp is medium dense, juicy. The skin is durable. Tomatoes ripen in clusters of 5-6 pieces.

Description and characteristics of the variety

The hybrid is indeterminate, non-standard. It reaches a height of 1.5-2 meters. The bush is a liana-like plant, medium-leaved, with a flexible trunk. In terms of ripening, it is classified as mid-season. Large stems are densely covered with carved leaves of light green color.

Due to the irregular shape of the fruit, the Auria tomato is also called Fun, Lady's Caprice, Manhood, Eros or Adam. Tomatoes have an oblong shape with a forked end. Unripe fruits are green-yellow, becoming bright red when ripe. The cut has a uniform red color, no white veins. Auria tomatoes are 12-14 cm long and weigh 150-180 g.

The flesh is fleshy and dense. They have an attractive aroma and rich taste. There are very few seeds in the chambers.

Country of origin

Tomato Auria is a very young hybrid. It was bred in 1997 by Novosibirsk breeders, but to this day it is gaining popularity among gardeners.

Which regions are best to grow in?

In the middle zone and Siberia, the plant requires greenhouse conditions for cultivation. The climate of the southern regions allows for growing tomatoes in open ground.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros:

  • resistant to fruit cracking;
  • very high yield;
  • excellent taste and aroma;
  • unusual shape of the fetus;
  • tolerance to temperature changes;
  • resistance to diseases;
  • suitability for storage and transportation.

Minuses:

  • needs pinning and fixation with supports;
  • demanding of potassium and calcium;
  • falls off the bush when ripe.

Productivity

The richness of the harvest depends on the following factors:

  • soil;
  • seed preparation;
  • places of growth;
  • care;
  • regularity of fertilizing and watering.

If all requirements for growing the variety are met, up to 14 clusters are formed on one bush, each of which produces from 6 to 8 tomatoes. Thus, about 6-7 kg of tomatoes can be harvested from one plant.

Features of cultivation and storage

Many farmers use a commercial soil mixture to sow seeds, but it can also be prepared at home. The composition includes ordinary humus and soil (in a 1:1 ratio) with the addition of peat. During growth, you need to fertilize the soil with potassium 3 times.

Suitable soil for growing tomatoes is considered to be the same soil on which carrots, cauliflower, parsley, dill or cucumbers were previously grown. These plants provide the soil with suitable organic matter, which contributes to a good tomato harvest. Due to the fact that the fruits of Auria tomatoes do not overripe, they can be stored for a long time.

Planting and care

Before sowing seeds for seedlings, they must be soaked in a weak solution of potassium permanganate for disinfection for half an hour. Then rinse thoroughly and leave in water until they swell. Seeds are sown in small seedling pots and covered with film to create a greenhouse effect.

The suitable temperature for seedlings is 24 °C. It is necessary to water only after the soil has completely dried. After the first shoots appear, the seedlings should be placed in a room with a temperature of 18°C.

Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out 55-60 days before planting in the ground. Fertilizing with organic substances begins when the first two leaves of the plant appear.

When 3 leaves are formed, they are picked - transplanted into boxes or another larger container.

Tomatoes require staking and pinching. But it is not demanding on moisture; one watering per week is enough. A bush is usually formed into 1-2 stems, depending on climatic conditions, to obtain a rich harvest.

To grow Auria tomatoes in greenhouse conditions, before planting the bushes, it is advisable to disinfect the greenhouse, ventilate and moisten the soil.

Due to the fact that the bush itself is tall and vine-like, it needs to be tied up. This will prevent strong winds from breaking the stem.

Advantages and disadvantages of the amateur variety

The tomato is valued for its early ripening harvest and other positive characteristics:

  1. High yield. The originators do not provide exact data, but summer residents talk about 3-4 kg of tomatoes per bush.
  2. Immunity to pathogens of root rot and late blight.
  3. Unpretentiousness in the garden. The tomato copes with stress from lack of sun or moisture, and a sharp drop in summer temperature.
  4. Good harvest quality. Most fruits have a marketable appearance, are stored for a long time in the right conditions and can withstand transportation without spoilage.
  5. Universal purpose. Tomatoes have a good aroma and sweet and sour taste. They are used to solve any culinary problems.

Disadvantages of tomato variety:

  • The crop’s harvest is quite massive, so the plant needs a garter;
  • tomato prefers open ground;
  • The plant's resistance to a number of typical tomato diseases is mediocre.

Selection and features of agricultural technology

Tomato can be planted with or without seedlings. In the first case, sowing is performed in April. Transplantation into greenhouse or open garden soil - in early June. Under optimal conditions, the first fruits in the greenhouse ripen at the end of June. In another situation, fruiting occurs in July and lasts about 1 month.

When using the seedless method, sowing is planned for late May or early June. Ripening will begin in August. The garden bed will bear fruit until mid-October. Agricultural technology is similar.

Attention! In both cases, plant up to 3-5 plants per 1 square meter. m.

Growing tomatoes

How to prepare seeds?

In order for bushes to grow from healthy seeds, the material for sowing needs to be prepared:

  1. First, the seeds are sorted. To do this, they are immersed in a warm salty water solution. Empty seeds will float to the surface;
  2. Then the seeds are treated with heat in the oven, which is heated to 50 degrees. Every 25 minutes you need to stir the seeds so that they do not burn;
  3. To completely disinfect the seed material, it must be immersed in a solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide for 10-15 minutes;
  4. To improve the immunity of future bushes, the seeds are placed in aloe juice for 12 hours.

Sowing seed material

In mid-March, seeds are sown for seedlings. First of all, prepare a shallow container and fill it with earth.

HELP: You can buy soil at a farm store or make a mixture of sand, peat, humus and garden soil. Before planting, the soil must be calcined in the oven.

Pots with soil are moistened and pre-prepared seeds are placed in them, which are deepened no more than 2 cm. The top of the seed material must be crushed with peat.

To make the seedlings germinate faster, they are covered with film. When sprouts appear, remove the film and place the pots in a brightly lit place.

Seedlings need care:

  • Watering;
  • Pinching after the appearance of the first leaf;
  • Fertilizer application every 14 days;
  • Hardening in the fresh air, which should begin two weeks before transplantation.

Rules for planting seedlings

IMPORTANT: Immediately after planting, water the plants.

Since the bushes are small, you can plant 5-6 bushes per square meter. To do this, dig holes that need to be filled with boiling water and covered with peat and humus. The root system of the seedlings is placed at the bottom of the holes and covered with soil on top.

Reviews from tomato growers

In reviews, gardeners note: the germination rate of tomato seeds is at least 85%. A summer resident from Minsk, Snegovik, praised the variety. The man attached each bush to one support. The harvest turned out to be quite good, but part of it was spoiled by late blight.

Attention! Gardeners warn: you can find the amateur tomato Skazka with elongated plum-shaped fruits from another Ukrainian producer on sale.

Natalya grew the variety with seedlings in open ground in the climate of Irkutsk. The tomatoes corresponded to the declared properties and avoided diseases. The summer resident highly appreciated the taste. She collected part of the harvest for ripening.

The amateur tomato Skazka is interesting to gardeners for its ease of cultivation, taste and high yield. There are also disadvantages among the characteristics. But they are easy to level with skillful hands.

Application

The small size of tomatoes allows them to be used for canning as a whole. These tomatoes can also be salted and pickled, added to assorted vegetables and various twists for the winter. The average taste of tomatoes makes it possible to eat them fresh and add them to salads. However, they perform best when processed.
