Characteristics and description of the variety
The bushes grow very tall, they have powerful stems and light green leaves of medium size.
Important!
The bushes must be pinched and tied up. It is best to form each bush into 2 stems.
Tomatoes have a rather unusual appearance; they are elongated, red in color and have orange veins. The skin is dense, but not tough. The pulp is sweet, tasty, juicy. Tomatoes have few seeds. 8-11 fruits are formed on one brush. The variety is new, it was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2015.
general description
Summer residents love this tomato. He has many positive qualities. It is intended mainly for greenhouses made of polycarbonate or film, but if you live in regions with a warm climate, as well as in Ukraine or in the same latitudes in our country, then you can easily grow the variety in open ground. What are the advantages of “Spark of Flame”? Well, the first thing is, of course, his appearance. Tomatoes are similar in shape to peppers or the flames of a fire; what’s more, the orange stripes along the skin give them an even greater resemblance to the elements. The variety grows large, which is a disadvantage for many, because it needs to be shaped and tied up, but not for those who love gardening. Yes, and productivity and resistance to all diseases can compensate for this time spent on unnecessary agricultural techniques - this is the second and third plus.
Reviews from those who planted
Natalya, Perm region
I planted “Spark Flame” tomatoes in a greenhouse. I really liked that there were a lot of tomatoes ripe. Not only our family, but also relatives and friends ate them. The color of the elongated tomatoes made a great impression; with their orange stripes, they really resemble sparks from a fire. One of the disadvantages I can note is that ripe tomatoes do not last long.
Oksana, Novosibirsk
The bushes were grown in a greenhouse. I really liked the fruits, they taste similar to the fruits of the De Barao Gigant variety.
Ekaterina, Moscow
I planted the seedlings in a greenhouse. The bushes have grown to a height of about 2 m. The fruits are tasty and sweet. They can be eaten fresh, put in salads, salted, pickled.
Brief description, unique features of the variety
If we briefly describe the variety of bright tomatoes, focusing on the most important criteria for experienced summer residents, we should highlight the following components of the brief characteristics of the Sparkling Flame tomatoes:
- high productivity;
- unlimited growth;
- mid-late variety.
Dense, oval-shaped tomato fruits with a pointed tip, have a small number of seeds inside, the color is dominated by deep red, orange veins cover the skin with a thin mesh. The skin has a dense texture, not hard.
Some features that distinguish the “fiery” variety of tomatoes from other inhabitants of country garden beds:
- Tomatoes are grown in film greenhouses and require regular staking and shaping.
- The standard weight of one ripe tomato is approximately 150 g, length does not exceed 15 cm.
- The compactness of the product and its taste advantages are ideal for whole canning.
- Pruning is necessary; excess shoots are removed without regret. Leaving 1-2 stems, the summer resident must be prepared that the Spark of Flame will bring a “fiery” harvest.
- The plant's hardiness allows it to withstand tomato diseases and not succumb to climate change.
- The powerful root system of tomatoes requires freedom, so tender sprouts should be planted at a considerable distance from each other ( no more than 4 seedlings per square meter).
The beauty of ripe fruits is obvious, their taste is ideal for any culinary ideas. The positive description of the variety is overshadowed by the obvious difficulties of care, which novice gardeners may not be able to cope with.
Color, shape, weight of the fruit
Gardeners really like the unusual shape of the fruits; they are somewhat reminiscent of peppers. The tomatoes are bright red, oblong. The length of the fruit is up to 13 cm, weighing 80-150 g. It is believed that tomatoes are medium in size. The number of seed nests is 2. The tomatoes are quite aromatic.

Tomato variety Flame. Planting and care
As a rule, seeds are sown approximately 50-55 days before the seedlings are planted in open ground. If you rely on advice from experienced gardeners and the breeders themselves, the seeds can germinate perfectly. And also, in general, even a vegetable grower who has not yet had experience in sowing tomatoes will not have any special problems with either planting or caring for tomatoes of this variety.
It is best to prepare the seeds in advance. To do this, planting material should be disinfected after purchase. The seeds are placed in a solution of potassium permanganate for some time (usually for the first half hour). This procedure will further prevent the plant from becoming infected with various fungi or viruses.
Secondly, you can stimulate growth in tomato seeds of the Flame variety using a growth stabilizer. The seeds should also be kept in the growth stimulator solution for no more than 30 minutes. After which they should be dried thoroughly.
Preparing the soil and planting seeds
As for planting planting material, this must be done in pre-prepared boxes that are filled with soil. Gardeners can prepare their own soil mixture. To do this, components such as ordinary soil, peat and river sand are mixed in equal proportions. It is advisable to take coarse river sand.
Then the soil must be moistened with settled water at room temperature. And then each seed is deepened into the soil by 1-1.5 centimeters. Then the container must be covered with polyethylene and placed in a well-lit place where sunlight will be provided 12-14 hours a day.
As a rule, it is best to place boxes either on window sills or on loggias on the south side. Such a domesticated greenhouse needs to be ventilated daily. Otherwise, there may be a risk that various fungal diseases will appear.
Tomatoes Flame: caring for seedlings
to water sprouted tomatoes using a sprayer. Since it will allow you to very delicately moisten the soil and prevent the shoot from being damaged due to excessive and careless application of moisture.
When the very first leaves appear on the shoots (usually there are two or three), the plants can be carefully picked . In general, peat tablets or pots are very suitable for this. When the plant is planted in open ground, it can be placed in the ground along with the pots. Since peat is a natural component that takes root well in the soil.
In addition, in peat pots there is a much higher chance that the plant will successfully adapt to a new location and give excellent growth results.
Planting seedlings in the soil of tomato variety Flame f1
Around the second half of May, you can plant seedlings directly in open ground. Also, the Flame tomato is great for planting in a specially prepared greenhouse.
Of course, it is very important that by the time the seedlings are planted, the soil has time to warm up well. And also to ensure stable warm weather. The soil for planting seedlings is well dug up and then fertilized. Organic matter is perfect for feeding.
After planting, the holes should be mulched; the most common sawdust is used for this. In general, the plant is quite unpretentious. So, caring for him is not at all difficult.
Tomato Flame f1 only needs to be watered regularly. And mineral fertilizers are great for this. It is also worth weeding the beds. Since weeds can cause damage to the plant, its root system and, accordingly, the yield may noticeably decrease.
Features of growing and caring for the variety
Seeds are sown 55-60 days before planting seedlings. For planting, you can buy ready-made soil for tomatoes, or you can make the soil yourself by mixing garden soil, humus, sand and adding 1 tbsp. a spoonful of superphosphate. You can replace superphosphate with ash. Moisten the soil, make grooves in the container or depressions in peat cups, place the seeds, sprinkle with 1 cm of soil. Cover with film and glass and place in a warm place with an air temperature of +23-25 degrees. Don't forget to water the greenhouse. When shoots appear, remove the film.
Water the seedlings with water; when 2-3 true leaves grow, the seedlings need to be planted in separate cups. After a week, the seedlings are fed; you can make a solution of 1 part humus and 10 parts water. After another 7 days, feed the seedlings a second time, add half a teaspoon of urea, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of superphosphate and 1 teaspoon of potassium sulfate in 5 liters of water.
It is very good if you water the seedlings with Zircon. 14 days before transplanting, the seedlings are hardened off; they should stand at a temperature of +19 degrees.
It’s better if you pick up a sunny area at your dacha where cabbage or cucumbers grew.
Plant seedlings on a plot or in a greenhouse, placing 3 bushes per 1 m2. Be sure to make a trellis and tie the bushes.
2 weeks after planting the seedlings, the tomatoes are fed. Make green manure. Fill the bucket 2/3 full with stems and leaves of dandelions or alfalfa. Pour in water until the bucket is completely filled. Cover with a lid. Leave it for a week, let it ferment. Then add 10 liters of water to 1 liter of composition. Pour 1 liter under 1 bush. You can do it differently. To feed tomatoes, fill the bucket 1/3 full with chicken droppings, then pour in water. Let the bucket with the composition sit for a week. Then pour another 20 liters of water into this mixture. When watering, try to pour the mixture under the roots so that it does not get on the leaves and stems, otherwise there may be burns. Before using fertilizing, the bushes are thoroughly watered. And after applying fertilizer, water again.
But when the bushes bloom, they are fed with phosphorus and potassium, without using nitrogen. You can feed it with ash.
Important!
Since the bushes are very tall, the tomatoes are fed and superphosphate and potassium are added every 15-20 days.
Agricultural technology for growing “Sparks of Flame”
Sowing begins 55-60 days before the intended transfer to the greenhouse.
These deadlines are different in each region. As mentioned above, if you want tomatoes to begin to bear fruit faster, then immediately plant the seeds in separate cups and, even better, they should be made from peat. This way you will bypass the picking stage, and during the transfer of seedlings the roots will not be injured, since you can place the bushes in the soil directly in cups. As for the soil, you can buy a universal soil; you can mix a spoonful of superphosphate with garden soil, humus, and sand. You can replace the first component with ash. After which the crops are moistened and placed under film.
To speed up germination and at the same time additionally provide the seedlings with immunity, you can use special preparations. For example, Zircon performed well.
While your seedlings are growing at home, you can start preparing the greenhouse, where you need to dig up the soil or replace it with new one. It is also necessary to pour a hot solution of manganese to disinfect and destroy parasites. Afterwards you make three holes per square meter, and also prepare a trellis. Transfer to the greenhouse will occur when the frosts have passed and the soil has warmed up by 15 degrees.
Your seedlings will grow well, especially if they are given plenty of light, warmth and moisture. Around May, you will plant them in the greenhouse and immediately tie them up. Superphosphate can be added to the wells. It is better to avoid nitrogen fertilizers, otherwise the bushes will produce a lot of greenery, but organic matter, phosphorus, potassium fertilizers, and ash can be applied every 15-20 days. The first time after the transfer, feed is applied at least 14 days later.
Of course, you must remove weeds, shoots, and ventilate the greenhouse. To form two stems for maximum yield, leave one stepson in the upper axil. It and the main stem will grow. The first fruits will soon begin to form in the clusters - 7-8 pieces in each. If the year turned out to be painful for crops, then it is better to protect your tomatoes. Experienced summer residents advise tying bottles of iodine to the bushes; this saves them from attack by pathogenic microorganisms. Here is the “Sparks of Flame” tomato and its description of the variety.
This tomato really looks unique and tastes very good. You can add variety to your table and surprise your guests.
