Experienced vegetable growers and farmers who grow vegetables in their fields always have the opportunity to cultivate new varieties. But novice tomato lovers can be advised to stick to time-tested varieties. One of these varieties that has gained popularity may be the Apple tomato and its varieties. These are universal tomatoes that have no connection with apples, but which taste good and can be stored for a long time.

Description of Apple tomatoes

By growing vegetables, a skillful and diligent housewife will provide her family with fresh vitamins. And canned assorted assorted vegetables, with added seasonings, add variety to the kitchen table in the winter. The apple variety is ideally suited for this purpose, because its fruits tend to be stored for a long time. This means that when the season of fresh vegetables has passed, you will have beautiful red tomatoes on your table.

Variety Apple-tomato: 6 indicators

Recently, Swiss gardener Markus Kobelt managed to obtain a new apple-tomato hybrid. Currently, breeders are actively working to develop new varieties and plant hybrids.

More than 20 years of active research and experimentation were spent on this discovery.

First of all, the goal of breeding is to obtain valuable varieties characterized by high productivity, increased shelf life, and resistance to various diseases and pests.

Tomato and apple are unique fruits that have excellent taste. However, the differences in their structure, forms and growing conditions practically exclude the possibility of the existence of a hybrid between these plants.

Nevertheless, work is constantly underway. First, tomatoes were created, the variety of which is similar in appearance to apples: Siberian apple and Apple tomato. The fruits of these varieties have an external resemblance to apples (in shape), as well as a bright taste.

This tomato hybrid was obtained by Russian breeders. The Siberian apple tomato is a mid-season, high-yielding tomato suitable for growing in a greenhouse and unprotected soil in the southern regions. Bushes of indeterminate type reach 1.8 m in height, so it is necessary to stake the plants. Productivity - up to 8.5 kg per 1 m².

The advantages of this variety include:

  • high productivity;
  • excellent taste;
  • good disease resistance.

Almost no shortcomings were identified.

  • average weight 150 g;
  • in a state of technical ripeness, the fruits have a soft pink color;
  • sugar content and meaty consistency, which persists throughout the entire storage period.

This tomato hybrid was obtained by Russian breeders. The Siberian Apple tomato is a mid-season, high-yielding tomato.

The Paradise Apple tomato is planted both in open ground and in a film greenhouse. In many regions, climate conditions are not suitable for growing tomatoes, since the fruits do not have time to ripen before the onset of fogs, after which the leaves and stems of the plant turn black. Many varieties do not tolerate high humidity, sudden temperature changes, or prolonged absence of sun.

Despite the fact that caring for the Paradise Apple is not easy, gardeners and farmers prefer this tall variety and appreciate:

  • for resistance to adverse weather;
  • for the taste of the fruit;
  • for early ripening of the crop.

Tomatoes do not crack during transportation and do not lose their attractiveness during long journeys. They contain more than 15% ascorbic acid. This vitamin strengthens the immune system, slows down cell aging, and helps remove toxins from the body.

Description of the variety

Their name speaks volumes about the high taste of tomatoes. On the tall bushes of the Paradise Apple, compact inflorescences are formed, on which, after 100 days, the first fruits ripen. They differ:

  • rounded shape;
  • smooth skin;
  • fleshy pulp;
  • pink or red.

One multi-chambered tomato weighs from 150 to 240 grams, but it is impossible to collect seeds, since there are practically no seeds in the fruit. In the garden, almost 4 kg of juicy tomatoes are harvested from one plant.

In the greenhouse they ripen a little longer than in the garden bed, illuminated from all sides by the sun. In open ground, the bush rises to 1.5 meters in height. The Paradise apple variety is tied to supports and 2 stems are left.

Seeds, which can be bought in specialized stores, are placed in a solution of Fitosporin or potassium permanganate.

After 12 hours, they are sent to containers with a mixture of peat and sand, having previously fed the soil with urea and superphosphate.

In order for tomatoes to give a good harvest, and up to 9 kg of sweetish fruits are collected from 1 square meter, each bush must be fed at least 4 times during the summer. The Paradise Apple growing in the garden is watered twice a week, if it doesn’t rain, and in the greenhouse they moisten it more often.

When the ovary is formed, the soil is fertilized. Pinching is done when the brushes appear. To prevent the tomato from growing upward, pinch the bush. After each watering, the soil should be loosened.

Disease resistance. Ripening of the crop both under the film and in the garden. Easy to care for.

Reviews about the tomato variety Apple Spas

Tomatoes are a versatile vegetable from which various dishes are prepared, which is why summer residents choose varieties so carefully. The Apple Spas tomato is unpretentious in cultivation and produces a stable harvest throughout the entire fruiting period.

Non-hybrid tomatoes. Apple Spas is a variety with ultra-early fruit ripening. Vegetables begin to ripen within 35 days after sowing the planting material into the soil. Fruiting lasts until the first frost. The plant can be grown both outdoors and in greenhouses or greenhouse shelters.

The bushes are determinate, that is, low-growing. The height of the plant does not exceed 85 cm. This is convenient if the area is small and there is little space. The bushes are not branched; they need to be formed into two stems. It is recommended to tie the plants so that the branches do not break under the weight of the fruit. The leaves are of a typical tomato shape, dark green in color.

They are resistant to diseases and dry weather. You need to sow seeds depending on solar activity during the day. Seedlings require a large amount of light, so the optimal time for planting would be mid-February to early March.

“Apple Spas has recently become my favorite tomato. Ripe vegetables make delicious tomato juices, lecho and ketchups. Suitable for salads too. We ate fresh tomatoes all summer. They taste juicy and sweet with an incredible aroma. In the fall, after picking, the green fruits had time to turn red, and ripe vegetables did not spoil for a long time.

Description of the variety

Semenovna tomatoes have unique properties collected in one variety:

  • Determinate bush up to 0.5 m in height with medium-sized dark green leaves. Due to its short growth, several main shoots (stepchildren) with abundant flowering are formed on the bush. Does not require tying or pinching.
  • Fruits weighing 110-130 g are located on a stalk with joints of 3-4 nests on a branch. Ripe spherical fruits have a bright red color with a slight silvery tint, while unripe ones are light green in color.
  • Juicy tomatoes with fleshy pulp, covered with a dense, non-cracking skin, have a rich tomato taste. The harvest is used for salads, canning, and tomato products.
  • The yield is up to 2 kg per bush. With good care and proper agricultural technology, it can be more productive.
  • From germination to harvesting the first harvest 94-96 days.

Reviews about the tomato variety Apple Spas

“I liked tomatoes because they don’t require a lot of attention to care for. I only applied fertilizer several times a season. Productivity was high. I didn’t like the vegetables fresh, but they were perfect for canning. In a jar, tomatoes do not crack and retain their taste. Due to their small size, it’s convenient to roll up vegetables whole.”

Valentin, 47 years old:

I also liked this variety because I didn’t have to take much care of it. It is enough to organize proper watering and remove weeds from the site on time. The lack of care had no effect on the yield.”

Description of the tomato variety Apple Lipetsk, features of cultivation and care

The Apple Lipetsk tomato is a salad variety that is distinguished by its unique taste. Despite the fact that it was bred quite a long time ago, the variety has not lost popularity.

Description

Apple Lipetsk is a mid-season, indeterminate variety. The height of the plant in open ground is 1.6 m, in a greenhouse - 1.8 m. The bush is medium-vigorous.

Upon reaching biological ripeness, the fruits turn red. There are no spots around the stalk. The fruits ripen gradually. The average fruit weight is 150–300 g. With good care and favorable weather conditions, tomatoes grow up to 450 g. The yield is average: 3.5 kg of vegetables can be harvested on one bush.

The low fertility of indeterminate varieties is fully offset by unique taste qualities. The pulp is fleshy and juicy. The taste is balanced, rich tomato. There are few seed chambers. The fruits are used for fresh consumption and the preparation of tomato juices. Small specimens are preserved.

The tomato stems look large and require staking. In order for the characteristics of the tomato not only to be justified, but also to improve, it is recommended to form the bushes into 2 stems. In the middle zone, the variety is recommended to be grown in greenhouses, and in the southern part of the country - in open ground.

Features of cultivation and care

The Lipetsk apple tomato needs the same care as all other varieties of vegetables. To enjoy delicious tomatoes and also treat your neighbor to them, just add a number of simple manipulations to your to-do list. For normal growth, the culture needs:

  1. Watering. No plant will grow without water. However, while some crops need almost daily watering, tomatoes only need one generous watering per week. It is often not recommended to add water to the crop, since due to increased humidity, tomatoes suffer from fungal diseases, which pose a great danger to the harvest.
  2. Feeding. In the first half of the growing season, plants are fed with nitrogen-containing fertilizers. Ammonium nitrate, nitrophoska or organic solutions are used as fertilizing. During fruit setting, fertilizers are replaced with potassium-phosphorus mixtures, which promote fruit filling and ripening.
  3. Shaping and garter. According to the information included in the description of the species, you need to pinch off all excess side shoots, leaving only 2 stems. Since large fruits strongly pull the brush down, which can cause it to break, the stems are attached to pegs or tied with twine.

Early ripening, high-yielding, long-bearing variety. In the middle zone, we recommend growing it in a greenhouse.

The plant is of indeterminate type, 1.5-1.7 meters high. Forms beautiful clusters with aligned fruits. Requires tying to the support and pinning. The best results were obtained when forming a bush with 2 stems.

This tomato has a regular type of leaf.

Basic qualities of fruits

photo author Alla Kondratyeva

The fruits are round, even, calibrated, red-crimson in color at maturity, weighing 60-100 grams. The taste is excellent, there is both sweetness and sourness. These tomatoes are ideal for whole-fruit canning, making juices, sauces, and freezing.

We recommend sowing the seeds of this tomato variety for seedlings 55-60 days before the intended planting in the ground.

Briefly describe the advantages and disadvantages of this tomato in your opinion. If possible, attach a photo of the entire bush or individual fruits of this variety to the comment. Thank you!

Your reviews of the Apple Spas tomato and additions to the description will help many gardeners evaluate this variety objectively and decide whether it is worth planting or not.

Characterizing “Bystrenka”

The description of this tomato includes such features as determinacy, compactness, and the already mentioned precocity. Representatives of this variety grow up to 75 cm; 85-90 days pass from sowing to ripening.

Ultra-early fruit readiness is an undeniable advantage, especially for regions where agricultural work can be risky. Therefore, many lovers of garden beds opt for low-growing early varieties: then they will be able to collect tomatoes for pickling in the last days of June.

As for the tomato bush, it cannot be called spreading. Its maximum height is 80 cm. However, tomatoes require tying to a support and pinching. The latter involves the elimination of lateral shoots arising from the leaf axils. The procedure will help to produce a better harvest and provides the necessary protection against diseases.

According to the recommendations of the manufacturers, the plants are formed into three stems. In the absence of a strong rush to obtain a harvest, it is better to carry out pinching for the first cluster. The tomato will ripen a little later, but its yield will not suffer in any way.

The main valuable characteristics of the variety are:

  1. Evenness of tomatoes;
  2. Consistently high productivity,
  3. Unforgettable pleasant taste;
  4. Parallel formation of all ovaries followed by fruiting;
  5. Resistance to various diseases inherent in tomato crops.

Thus, having early ripening, these tomatoes give their owners an excellent harvest before the appearance of such a scourge as late blight.

That’s why many summer residents prefer these tomatoes; they have been faithful to them for many years and are looking forward to the season to try growing new things. If you are afraid to change all the traditional varieties, then just try one tomato unknown to you every year, so you will choose the best. And let's move on to the review of new varieties of tomatoes of Siberian selection for 2021.

For any gardener, a tomato must have high yield and early ripening. This is especially true in Siberia, where daylight hours are rather short and the climate is harsh.

That is why special varieties are selected for this region, which can grow and produce a harvest in a short summer season. The varieties of Siberian selection have these qualities.

How to choose the most productive tomato seeds of Siberian selection?

Experienced gardeners choose the seeds of the best tomato varieties based on these parameters:

  • Maturing period. The short summer period forces you to take only those seeds that are early ripening. Three months is enough for the plants to grow and please with the harvest. It is important that this rate of development and growth does not affect taste.
  • Types of seeds. All tomatoes ripen from varietal or hybrid seeds. The difference between varietal tomato seeds of Siberian selection is that they produce hardy plants for the next year. Hybrid seeds require individual processing (crossing) so that they can germinate easily, have good yields and are resistant to diseases. That is, hybrid plants cannot have “hardy” offspring.
  • Type of bush. The choice is influenced by such indicators as the appearance of the bush. There are ordinary and standard, semi-standard, indeterminate, determinate, etc. Gardeners choose those that are suitable for them according to their capabilities and tastes. Tomatoes of Siberian selection have all types available. The only difference between them is the need for tying. The standard, semi-standard, and determinate varieties have a low, strong stem that bends only from the load of its harvest. The differences between ordinary determinates are continuous growth and abundant harvest. The bushes can be two and a half meters long; they have to be tied up even without fruit. Otherwise the plant will fall to the ground.
  • Taste qualities. The Siberian selection of tomatoes takes into account taste qualities. Some tomatoes are great to eat fresh, while others are only tasty when canned or processed.

So, after you have decided on your requirements for tomatoes, it’s time to describe and characterize the most productive tomato varieties of Siberian selection.

Next, to help gardeners give preference to one variety or another, we will consider varieties with the most productive seeds, suitable for growing in Siberia.

Tomato Apple Spas - description and characteristics of the variety

Description of the variety

Ass Apple spas is classified as a mid-season variety and is distinguished by a long fruiting period. The mound of bushes is from 50 to 80 cm. The shape of the fruit is round. The husk is smooth and glossy. When ripe, tomatoes acquire a red-crimson color. Copra is juicy and meaty. The taste of the fruit is delicate and aromatic. The amount of dry matter is average.

Eggs lend themselves well to transportation over long distances while maintaining their marketable appearance, and in addition, they can be stored fresh for a long time. The Apple Spas variety is great for making juices, sauces, pastes, and for pickling; Pomona gifts can decorate any table in the form of slices or as salad dressing.

Fruit weight – 130-150 g.

Growing rules

Tomatoes are grown using the seedling method. Superelite should be treated with a weak solution of potassium permanganate, then rinsed with warm water. Sowing is carried out at the end of March or at the beginning of April. This variety requires fertile soil to grow. The soil from the garden must be disinfected. To do this, it is heated at a high temperature in the oven. This procedure will help get rid of harmful insect larvae and dangerous viruses.

Before sowing, the soil must be mixed with humus and peat. In a container with prepared soil, lay the mora to a depth of 2-3 cm. The top of the container is covered with glass or film.

During the growth of seedlings, organic and mineral fertilizers need to be added to the soil 2-3 times. As soon as 2-3 leaves are formed on the sprouts, they are picked into separate containers.

Seedlings are planted in a permanent area when they are 55-70 days old. It is a good idea to harden off the plants before planting. The container with seedlings is taken out to the musharabi or outside for several hours for several days. Complex fertilizers must be added to the prepared holes. The distance between neighboring bushes should be 70 cm, and the row spacing should be 30-40 cm.

Rules of care for the variety

The bushes need to be tied up. It is necessary to remove the stepsons in a timely manner and tear off the lower leaves. Loosening the soil and removing weeds will help normalize aeration in the root system, and you can also avoid the development of a viral infection, as weeds are carriers of viruses. Water the bushes with warm, settled water as needed.

It is important not to over-moisten the soil and not allow it to dry out. Several times a season it is necessary to add complex vitamins (earths. Preference should be given to nutritional compositions that contain nitrogen, potash and phosphorus. Despite the high resistance to various diseases and pests, bushes should be treated with insecticides for prevention

It is also recommended to regularly visually inspect the plants for yellowed leaves and affected areas. If problems are discovered, you need to take action immediately. Old, diseased leaves should be torn off and the bushes should be sprayed with special preparations.

Tomatoes of the Apple Galilean variety have proven themselves in domestic gardens. Summer residents and farmers note the high yield of the variety and its ingenuousness to climatic conditions. If you follow all the care rules, you can harvest a rich harvest of healthy fruits.

Characteristics of the variety

Tomatoes under the bright name “Apple Spas” appeared on the market quite recently, in the 21st century. Altai breeders developed this wonderful variety for cultivation in greenhouse conditions. However, in the conditions of the south, the variety successfully took root in open beds. Apple savior is not a hybrid, and therefore you can propagate tomatoes through your own seeds without fear of getting fruits of the wrong quality in the new season.

Plants are indeterminate, that is, they do not have limited growth. In a greenhouse, their height often reaches two meters. In open ground, the bushes rise to a much more modest height. Up to 8-10 beautiful, evenly blooming clusters are formed on a long stem, which intensively begin to set numerous fruits by mid-summer. The bushes are very powerful, weakly leafy. Plants require staking to support (not only the main trunks, but also fruiting clusters) and regular pinching. Better yield results can be achieved by growing bushes in two stems.

This variety belongs to tomatoes with medium ripening periods. The growing season lasts on average 110 days. The fruits reach full ripening 125 days after sowing the seeds. The main feature of this variety is the long-term fruiting of the plant.

Apple Spas tomatoes are memorable for their original rounded shape of the fruit, reminiscent of ripe apples. They form on bushes in clusters, falling from the branches. The maximum weight of tomatoes is 250 grams (the weight of most fruits is 150 grams). The skin of the fruit is glossy, smooth, and has a beautiful uniform red-raspberry color. The inside is fleshy and dense, balanced in taste (moderate amount of acid and sweetness), with a pleasant aroma.

Advice: since the dry matter content in fruits is high, it is better not to make juices from them. But for sauces, freezing and canning, “apple” tomatoes are perfect.

Due to their low juiciness, vegetables are perfectly stored without losing their shape and taste. They also withstand long-term transportation well without deforming or cracking. Tomatoes have high commercial qualities, which help farmers in their successful sale.

The Apple Spas variety is not characterized by high yield. No more than three kilograms of excellent fruits are harvested from one tall plant. However, low productivity pales in comparison to the excellent appearance of tomatoes and their taste. Despite the low yield, this variety is still very popular and loved among tomato lovers.

Advantages of the variety:

  • good stable yield;
  • high commercial quality of fruits;
  • all tomatoes have the same shape and size;
  • high plant resistance to diseases;
  • heat resistance;
  • not demanding in care;
  • long fruiting period;
  • the fruits have a universal purpose.

Minuses:

relatively low yield.

Russian breeder variety

The tomato variety is very young, bred by Russian (Altai) breeders at the beginning of the 21st century. Refers to mid-early tomato varieties. From sowing of seeds to full ripening, 101–110 days occur. The variety is indeterminate (the stem does not stop growing, but grows further, forming a bush up to 2.5 m high), and has a harmonious taste.

In the southern regions it is successfully grown without cover, in the middle zone - in greenhouses. The bush is very powerful, not too leafy, tall; in a greenhouse, other specimens reach a height of up to 2 meters. In open ground 1.5 - 1.7 meters. The apple tomato needs support not only for the stem, but also for the clusters with formed fruits. Formation into two stems is ideal for this variety. The bush has a beautiful appearance and fruits with high taste.

Minusinsk glasses

For growing in open ground, these glass-shaped tomatoes: pink, bright red and orange-pink (when unripe, reminiscent of Ruslan tomatoes) are not suitable for the middle and northern zone, therefore these tomatoes are conventionally classified as greenhouse tomatoes. The length of the plant stem reaches 250 cm, and the glass-shaped fruits are surprisingly small, considering the characteristics of the Minusinsk plant in general - 300 g or less.

The long fruit is not susceptible to cracking; the peel is quite dense, so it is suitable for preservation in its entirety. However, due to the increased sugar content, tomatoes are most often consumed fresh or used in the preparation of various dishes.

In terms of external and taste characteristics, tomatoes of this type are confused with the Minusinsk bulls variety, but the latter is somewhat different in the shape of the tomatoes, or more precisely, in its “blunt” nose. Otherwise, the growing conditions and methods of using vegetables are absolutely identical.

Description of medium-sized tomatoes

These tomato varieties have a height of:

  • Apple robin, up to 1 meter;
  • Apple Spas, up to 80cm;
  • Golden Apple, up to 1 meter.

The name Malinovka speaks for itself, because its berries are raspberry-colored. This vegetable is grown in two stems, and up to five kilograms of tomatoes ripen on them. The quality of the product is excellent, it is suitable for all types of culinary processing.

Apple Spas standard tomatoes are incredibly disease resistant. Fresh vegetables are used in salads and as a decoration for other dishes. Tomatoes are also suitable for freezing and canning. They last a long time and can be transported over long distances. The Golden Apple plant burns brightly with yellow lanterns of round tomatoes.

Winter in the name of tomatoes

If the name of a variety contains the word Siberian, such as the Siberian Apple tomato, this does not mean that it should be planted in the Far North. It can be grown in the middle zone and further south. When planted, the plant is formed into two stems, on which the stepsons must be constantly removed. The productivity of tomato, both the Siberian Apple and the Apples on the Snow variety, is very high.

But the last variety differs from the previous one in that it grows short. On a determinate bush, 60 cm high, up to 35 fruits ripen, yielding a total of up to 3 kg of produce. The berry is small, about 50 grams, evenly colored, without a spot of a different color at the stalk. The variety is distinguished by its fresh shelf life when tomatoes and green apples are added to the salad, but it is also ideal for winter preparations.

Apple tomatoes: names, description

Characteristics of varieties

When you first learn about the Apple tomato variety, you might think about a hybrid of an ordinary tomato and an apple. But a tomato, at its core, is a berry, and an apple is a fruit tree. Of course, the wonders of modern genetics have made it possible to create genetically modified organisms. But this does not apply to our familiar vegetable.

Varieties of the Apple Tomato variety have a similar characteristic:

  1. The height of the fruit bush varies from 50cm to 1 meter.
  2. The fruit is round in shape and red in color.
  3. In terms of ripening time, Apple tomato is classified as medium early.
  4. Plants are grown using a universal method.
  5. Products can be consumed fresh or processed.

All of the listed qualities are ideally suited for the cultivation of these vegetables throughout almost the entire country. The southern regions can provide planting with heat, which means that there is an opportunity to grow tomatoes in the open air. In the north of the middle zone, plants must be planted in greenhouses. Sometimes, if there is a sudden cold snap, greenhouses need to be heated.

Tomato Apple Lipetsk and Apple Minusinsk are tall tomatoes. Both plants can grow indefinitely, but must be pinched back, limiting the height to 1.8 meters. Each species is best grown in two stems. Stepping must also be carried out.

Fruit characteristics differ slightly between varieties. The Lipetsk apple tomato variety has fruits that are round in shape, red in color, and without spots. The taste is real, tomato, with sourness and sweetness. The only disappointment is that its yield is small - 4 kg per bush, which is not typical for tall species.

There are several varieties of apple variety

The productive Crimean Apple variety is also very interesting, with large crimson fruits reaching 300 grams. This tomato is a long-liver, more than 80 years old, which means that it has been enjoyed by several generations. From one bush, with proper care, you can harvest more than 12 kg of produce per season.

You can name a few more tall tomatoes related to the name apple. Among them will be Adamovo, which can be grown both in a greenhouse and in the field.

Products of this type are suitable for processing and consumption in green, very tasty salads, when red tomatoes are combined with apples. A hybrid of Black Apple and Blue, these tomato varieties are similar in fruit color.

When ripe, they are colored in shades of chocolate and purple, but their flesh is standard, red, with a characteristic sweet taste.

Suitable for its cultivation, both in a greenhouse and in a field, but in the southern regions of the country. Among plants of this species, you can feel as if you are in a magical garden of love, where you are surrounded by paradise.

The fruit stem is hidden from human eyes by the bright green leaves and extravaganza of gold.

Children's dishes can be prepared very colorfully if you combine tiny tomatoes with miniature apples.

Preparing seedlings

When you decide to start growing tomatoes of this type, you need to know its agricultural technology.

Seedlings need to be fertilized

All plants must be planted in a permanent place from seedlings. If it is not a hybrid, then you can collect your own seeds; otherwise, seed material must be purchased at markets or breeding stations. Before planting, the seeds must be prepared for sowing and conditions suitable for development must be created.

First, prepare the soil, which includes:

  • garden soil;
  • peat;
  • humus;
  • ash;
  • fertilizers

All ingredients are mixed and checked for density using the compression method. If the soil crumbles, it means it is suitable for sowing seeds. The seeds are soaked overnight in a stimulant, plus a weak solution of potassium permanganate. In the morning, they are washed and they begin to plant, placing the seed in prepared containers.

The finished containers are sprayed with water from a spray bottle and covered with glass or polyethylene. The temperature required for germination should be about 25 degrees during the day and within 18 degrees at night.

After the shoots appear, you need to wait until the second pair of leaves forms and start picking.

When the seedlings take root, you can fertilize them and do this three times in 2 months, until the time comes for planting in a greenhouse or field.

Plant care

When planting tomatoes in a permanent place, you need to make sure that the weather is warm, but not hot. It is better to do this in the evening.

Seedlings are planted in holes: four plants per square meter for tall tomatoes and 6 for medium-sized tomatoes. You can add a handful of ash to each hole and pour warm water over it.

The seedling is deepened, covered with soil and, if it is a tall species, tied to supports or trellises.

Further care of the plantings consists of:

  • in weeding and loosening the soil;
  • in timely watering;
  • in stepsoning;
  • in a garter;
  • in pest control.

Weeding is needed to kill weeds so that the plants have enough fresh air and nutrients.

Watering should be done in the evening and only with warm water; the root system of seedlings suffers from cold water. To combat pests, you can use folk methods and remedies, or you can purchase chemicals and, following the instructions, treat the plantings.

Variety – “APPLE SPAS”. Tomatoes from Fyodor.

When all the instructions are followed and the plants feel care and attention, they grow quickly, form flower clusters, set fruits and bring the desired harvest to their owners.

After the first tomatoes ripen, they should be immediately harvested, processed, or eaten in fresh salads. Farms grow products for transportation and sale to the population.

It doesn’t matter so much whether you grew a crop or bought finished products, you need to start processing in order to diversify your homemade dishes in winter.

Conclusion

When planning to plant your favorite variety, you first need to find out what its characteristics are, find a description of the species, and look at the photo.

The yield of bushes will depend on compliance with the rules of care, on timely measures to protect plants from weeds and pests. When the vegetable grower adheres to the recommendations, then the pets will thank him with an abundance of tasty and colorful fruits.

Grow tomatoes of apple varieties, admire them, eat them for your health and share the sweet and tasty sunshine of summer with your friends.

Tomato Apple: reviews and photos

When reading reviews about Yablochny Spas tomatoes, you should definitely pay attention to their resistance to disease. It is worth noting that the Apple variety as a whole is not susceptible to various types of diseases, especially those related to the nightshade family.

However, it is necessary to carry out preventive measures during planting, which will contribute to:

  • Improved productivity;
  • Acceleration of the ripening period;
  • Growing better quality crops.

Gardeners note that the Apple tomato is durable and can be stored for a long time

If, before planting seeds, you need to heat treat them using an oven, and spill the soil with a manganese solution, this is necessary to protect the harvest in the future. To avoid late blight, you need to spray with preparations containing copper. This will help protect the plant from problems such as rot and fungus.

Pests can be overcome by an infusion based on:

  • Celandine;
  • Chamomiles;
  • Yarrow.

If you had to deal with a naked slug, then you need to dilute ammonia with water. Insects are removed manually, after which treatment is carried out. The Apple tomato can be a great choice for those who prefer to grow exotic varieties on their site. The fruits are distinguished by their originality and excellent taste. This is exactly what can be called an excellent reward for all the work spent.

The peculiarity of the Apple tomato variety is that it is permissible to independently collect seeds for subsequent planting.

Not every gardener can appreciate the hard work of breeders, and some even consider this to be a real intervention in nature. According to numerous surveys, it was revealed that, after all, the majority of those who tried the Apple tomato variety were satisfied. To be more precise, people note that the breeders’ efforts were not wasted and they managed to create a variety that can adapt to different climatic conditions of the country and can produce an excellent harvest.

Features of the variety

Despite the fact that the fruits of this variety have a large weight and diameter (they can reach a weight of one and a half kilograms), the bushes of this hybrid are quite thin and brittle. You need to know how to properly tie tomatoes to a trellis immediately after transplanting them to a permanent growing location, be it a greenhouse or open ground. Otherwise, their stems may break under the weight of ripening fruits. Also, to obtain a good harvest, the bushes must be pinched, forming only one stem. Otherwise, the gardener may receive a small amount of fruit, and the tomatoes themselves will not be sweet and too small for this variety.

Tomato planting scheme

Country of origin, growing regions

The presented hybrid was bred in the 19th century by the gardener Starukhin. He grew it in the Minusinsk Basin in Siberia, which is how the hybrid got its name. The variety turned out to be resistant to Siberian climatic conditions. It quickly became widespread outside the region.

The best varieties of cucumbers for Siberia can be found here.

Nowadays, this variety of tomatoes is successfully grown in all regions of Russia. In most areas it can be grown in open ground, only in the northern regions with the most severe climate it is recommended to plant it in greenhouses. To determine the timing of planting tomatoes, gardeners often rely on the lunar calendar, thanks to which they can understand in which month to plant tomatoes for seedlings.

A wire or whip tie can damage the plant.

Advantages and disadvantages

Minusinsk tomatoes have many advantages over other varieties. These include:

  • high productivity;
  • good taste of fruits and their large size;
  • the ability to grow this variety both in greenhouses and in open ground;
  • fruit resistance to cracking.

You can read about growing tomatoes in a polycarbonate greenhouse here.

Minusinsk tomatoes are a high-yielding variety and also have large fruits.

The disadvantages of this variety include complex plant agricultural technology. Bushes of Minusinsk tomatoes require tying up after planting in a permanent place of growth, they are not resistant to temperature changes, require regular watering, weeding and knowledge of how to plant tomatoes completely.

Tomatoes must be watered evenly and exclusively with warm water.

Advantages and disadvantages of tomato Golden Apples

Any tomato requires love and care, regardless of whether it is a hybrid or not. Likewise, each tomato variety has its own history of origin. This type of tomato was developed specifically for Russian climatic conditions, and they can grow both in a greenhouse and in open ground.

They can be consumed fresh, in particular by adding them to salads, appetizers, side dishes and even hot dishes.

The advantage of tomatoes called Golden Apples is that they can always be consumed fresh without prior heat treatment.

As for processing and preservation, there are no restrictions, and twists with a combination of yellow, red and green tomatoes will look very original. Apple tomatoes are great for making an unusual, tasty and very healthy juice with a greenish-lemon color.

As for the advantages of this tomato variety, we can note:

  • Availability of original appearance;
  • Deliciousness;
  • Juiciness;
  • Excellent productivity;
  • Resistance to diseases and bacteria;
  • The need for the formation of bushes due to the large amount of foliage;
  • Requires nutritional value and moderate watering.

It would seem that the last two points can be considered disadvantages, since they require effort and time, but by carrying out such important actions for the growth and development of the plant, you can achieve an excellent harvest.

Characteristics and description of the variety

Minusinsk tomatoes are classified as mid-season indeterminate (tall) varieties. The bush can reach up to 2.5 meters in height and requires garter. Most often, the bush develops one or two stems. The leaves of the plant are medium in size and dark green in color.

Tomato fruits reach up to 1 kg and have a rich crimson color. The photo shows that the tomato has smooth skin and small seed chambers. The pulp of the fruit is juicy, not watery. It is also known that Minusinsk tomatoes are famous for their excellent sweet taste.

Apple variety

Apple tomato is a mid-season, sleepy variety. The bush is tall and requires timely garter. Compared to other varieties, apple is relatively small (up to 500 g). Tomato fruits are red, flat-round in shape. The taste is harmonious, balanced, pleasant. Gardeners who grow the variety report good yields.

Minusinsk glasses

The fruit has a dense peel, which makes it not susceptible to cracking. Due to the increased sugar content, tomato is most often consumed fresh. However, this variety is also suitable for preservation.

In terms of external and taste characteristics, “Glass” is often confused with the “Minusinsk bulls” variety, however, the latter differs in the shape of the fruit.

Minusinsk bulls

This is a tall plant that sometimes reaches the top of the greenhouse, requiring it to be pinched back. Each cluster contains 5-6 fruits. They have an oval-cylindrical shape and a slightly elongated “nose”.

The fruits have a rich pink color. The pulp is dense, fleshy, with excellent taste. The weight of tomatoes is 250-400 g. Excellent for salads.

Burlak Early Ripe

Minusinsk barge hauler is considered the only early ripening variety. The leaves of the plant are shaped like potato leaves. The stem reaches a length of 1.8 m. The fruits of the variety are flat. Their weight reaches 500 g. The pulp is clearly grainy, juicy and very sweet.

Minusinsk tomatoes

The Minusinsk tomato is one of the “progenitors” of the variety varieties. The characteristics of this tomato are considered reference for the development of derivative varieties. The fruits reach up to 1 kg. When ripe, it has a rich raspberry hue and a bright taste. Unripe fruits are slightly sour, but are also used for cooking.

Balls Minusinsk

The fruits of the Minusinsk balls are dense, not very juicy, but sweet. They are intolerant of high soil moisture. The weight of the fruit reaches only 200 g, therefore, compared to other varieties, they look like real dwarfs. The yield of a bush with such a fruit weight is no more than 3.5 kg.

Giant

The weight of the fruits of the Minusinsk giant varies from 300 g to 1.5 kg. It depends on the growing conditions. To obtain large fruits, all the stepsons are removed from the main stem. To get tomatoes weighing up to 600 g, it is recommended to leave the lower stepsons.

These fruits are distinguished by their bright red color and sugary taste.

Harvest

The variety is considered the most fertile. The yield of the bush reaches up to 6 kg. Individual fruits reach a weight of up to 400 g when grown on a single-stem bush. The bush reaches a height of up to 1.8 m. The leaves are of the usual type. It is recommended to grow this variety in the middle zone in greenhouses. The fruits have a round shape, a rich red color and a magnificent, juicy taste.

Minusinsk flat hearts

The tomato gets its name from its slightly flattened shape. The average fruit weight is between 250-350 g. They are heart-shaped and have a bright crimson hue. The height of the bush reaches 2 m. Requires gartering and pinching. The leaves are long. Up to 3-5 fruits ripen on a cluster. The pulp of tomatoes is low-seeded and fleshy. Well suited for making sauces and juices.

Characteristics of the Minusinsk Apple tomato, its yield

There is such a city in Siberia - Minusinsk. What do you think he is famous for? Tomatoes! It was here that amazing large-fruited varieties were bred, which are now popular all over the world.

Many avid gardeners look forward to the annual tomato festival, which is held in Minusinsk after the harvest, and try to bring home at least a few seeds. There are quite a few types of Minusinsk varieties. One of the most popular is the Apple Minusinsk tomato. What are its advantages, and what features of agricultural technology are available, we will consider further.

Characteristics and description of the variety

The Minusinsk Apple was developed through the so-called folk selection. This means that, first of all, the emphasis was placed on quality characteristics, and not on commercial appearance.

Although this does not mean that the tomato is somehow ugly. The fruits have an original ribbed shape and the bushes are quite lush. Can be compared to American Rib Steak and Beef Steak.

Despite the fact that the homeland of the tomato is Siberia, it is not recommended to grow it in open ground. Even in the middle zone, this must be done in a greenhouse, but closer to the north you cannot do without a major greenhouse.

Apple Minusinsk tomato is also grown in the south. Here it turns out to be especially sweet, but does not always reach large sizes.

Peculiarities

The variety is of medium ripeness and indeterminate. Bushes can grow up to 2.5 meters, but more often they are lower, up to 1.8 m.

It is important! The plant should be tied up from the very beginning, and not when it has already grown. One of the disadvantages of the variety is the fragility of the stems. They break very often and then the bush cannot be saved.

The fruits are round, slightly flattened. Color pink-red. The taste is sweet, the pulp is very reminiscent of watermelon. The aroma is rich and perfectly increases appetite. The weight of one tomato is approximately 500 g. The skin is thin and easily separated from the pulp.

From one bush you can collect up to 6 kg.

Use in cooking is universal, but juices and sauces made from Apple Minusinsk are especially tasty.

Tomatoes store well and are resistant to diseases and pests. Almost any soil is suitable. Fertilizing should be done as needed. If you use them too often, you can, on the contrary, harm the plant.

Growing and care

You may be interested in:
To get a harvest, you need to form the bush correctly. It is optimal to leave two stems. The first is the main one, and for the second, the stepson located under the lower fruit cluster is best suited. The remaining stepsons must be removed.

Sometimes you have to remove the ovaries. Focus on the approximate weight of the fetus. If they weigh up to 300 grams, then each branch should have no more than 7-8 ovaries.

Seeds are planted for seedlings 60-65 days before the approximate planting in the ground.

It won’t hurt to first hold them in a solution of potassium permanganate for 10-15 minutes; if they are grown in the northern region, then hardening will not hurt. To do this, the seeds are put in the refrigerator overnight, and for the day they are placed on a sunny windowsill, and so on for 2-3 days in a row.

It is also advisable to cultivate the soil, especially if garden soil or a self-composed mixture is used. To destroy possible fungi, bacteria and pest larvae, it can be frozen or, on the contrary, calcined.

Place the seeds on pre-moistened soil at a distance of 3-4 cm from each other. Gently sprinkle soil on top. Cover the containers with film or glass and put them in a warm place until shoots emerge. They usually appear on days 3-5. Then the cover must be removed. And place the seedlings on the warmest and brightest windowsill.

At the stage of formation of the second true leaf, seedlings can be planted in different containers.

Powerful seedlings are planted in the ground. You can first pour a handful of ground eggshells and onion peels into each moon. This will provide additional protection to young shoots.

In the future, the plants should be provided with sufficient watering. The variety is resistant to diseases, but preventive measures will not hurt.

Reviews

Petr Nikolaevich, 58 years old

I never thought tomatoes could be so tall. I was not quite ready to grow Apple Minusinsk, so the first experience turned out to be very unsuccessful. I didn’t even intend to grow it anymore, until a couple of years later I saw it on a friend’s plot. He was a real handsome man. It turned out that real seeds are not so easy to get. But I succeeded and now this miracle adorns my site. But I can’t preserve them entirely, so I also grow cream.

Natalya Viktorovna, 35 years old

Minusinsk tomatoes have never particularly attracted me. Of the large-fruited ones, I grew Ox's heart and that's it. When I tried Apple Minusinsky, I realized why they are so valued. Amazing taste and very juicy pulp, delicate skin, excellent yield conditions. It’s impossible to convey all the advantages at once. It’s better to try to grow it yourself, just remember that real seeds are quite difficult to get, buy only from trusted suppliers or ask your friends to prepare them yourself.

Tomato Apple Minusinsk is one of the best varieties today. This is time-tested quality, and not a new product that is just beginning to gain popularity.

Unusual varieties of tomatoes - with patterned and velvety fruits

Tomatoes with patterned fruits and velvety (hairy) tomatoes - can you imagine this? Perhaps not all amateur gardeners even know about their existence. However, while some of us cannot even imagine such a miracle, many are already successfully cultivating such wonders.

Tomatoes with patterned fruit colors are no less interesting than, for example, white-fruited and black-fruited ones, but for some reason they are not so widely known among gardeners. Until today, I have only met 3 such varieties, and it is them that I will tell you about now.

Tomatoes with patterned fruit coloring

I know from my own experience how difficult it is to resist the temptation to buy and grow all the unusual tomatoes at once. Take your time: first read their characteristics and choose only the varieties that are suitable for you.

Tomato variety “Apple color”

The fruits of this variety are completely covered with uneven stripes of a yellow-greenish hue, which gradually (as they ripen) become yellow-orange. It is these unusual intermittent stripes that make Apple tomatoes look like apples. Fruit size is about 200 g. The variety is semi-determinate (plants reach a height of about 170-190 cm), resistant to adverse weather conditions and major tomato diseases.

Tomato variety "De Barao Tiger"

Tomatoes of this variety (breeding agro

Tomatoes “Firework” (selection of the agricultural company “Gisok”) surprise with the unusual color of their fruits. The variety is intended for cultivation in open ground and under temporary film covers. Early ripening, the fruits begin to ripen already on the 105th day after emergence. Plants of the variety are indeterminate, tall (reach 1.5-1.8 m), very powerful. The ribbed fruits of a rounded-flattened shape are distinguished by a bright red color, with a scattering of small yellow stripes that are very reminiscent of fireworks, for which, in fact, the variety received its name. The weight of the fruit reaches 300-500 g.

Velvet tomatoes

Speaking about unusual tomatoes, it would be unfair not to mention the velvet varieties, the fruits of which are very, very original in both appearance and taste.

Tomato variety “Velvet Dude”

Medium ripening variety. The plants are medium-sized, reaching a height of 1 m. The pubescent, round-flat fruits weighing up to 200 grams are very similar in appearance to peaches, which is why the variety is sometimes called peach-shaped.

Tomato variety “Shaggy Bumblebee”

The variety is intended for cultivation in open ground and under temporary film covers. Mid-early, standard, determinate plants. The fruits are cylindrical, dense, smooth, pubescent; when unripe they are green (the color is more intense at the base), when mature they are bright red. Fruit weight is about 135 g.

Tomato variety "Blue Spruce"

Blue Spruce tomatoes can be called a real miracle of selection, and here's why. The red-burgundy surface of the fruit (outwardly very similar to small balls) is completely covered with small, barely noticeable fibers - it is they that give the tomatoes a decorative velvety feel. Not only the fruits (their weight is about 180-200 grams), but also the stem of the plant and even its leaves have delicate pubescence. The variety is late ripening (120-140 days). The plants are tall (reach 2 m), indeterminate; Potato-type leaves, quite large, green-blue in color.

The best varieties and hybrids of tomato

Siberia is perceived by most people as a harsh forest region with cold winters.
This is partly true. However, starting just beyond the Urals and ending with the lands of the Far East, Siberia surpasses Canada in size, and yet this country occupies the largest area in the world after the Russian Federation.

Therefore, in Siberia there are places quite favorable for crop growing, including for growing heat-loving crops such as tomatoes. In addition, selection does not stand still; every year new, best varieties of tomatoes for Siberia appear.

Tomato varieties for cultivation in Siberia must be resistant to weather conditions of a sharply continental climate.

Plants must be adapted to sudden late frosts as well as to early autumn drops in temperature.

In addition, tomato varieties must be adapted to hot summers and possible droughts. The best early varieties for Siberia include:

  • Demidov
  • Apples in the snow
  • Mashenka
  • Friendly
  • Gina
  • Far North

All these and other early varieties and hybrids are distinguished by the fact that they ripen quite quickly. From the moment of germination to the appearance of ripe tomatoes, 90 - 100 days pass.

Thus, if the seedlings were sown at the end of March and sprouted in the first half of April, then the first ripe tomatoes will appear in the second half of July.

It is clear that the main purpose of early tomatoes is to eat them fresh.

Those tomato varieties whose ripening begins after 100 - 120 days are classified as medium varieties. The best medium varieties of tomatoes for growing in Siberia are:

  • Wonder of the earth
  • Altai orange
  • Persimmon
  • Golden age
  • Scarlet candles

It should be noted that it is for mid-season tomatoes that the main area of the plot allocated for tomatoes should be allocated. Medium varieties most often have a universal purpose; they are good both fresh and suitable for canning and processing into juice or paste.

Taking into account the fact that the ripening of late varieties begins 4 months after emergence, that is, it takes at least 120 days for late tomatoes to ripen, the short Siberian summer may not be enough to get a harvest of such tomatoes in open ground. Still, we list some late varieties:

  • Lezhky
  • Giraffe
  • Long–Kieper
  • Finish

It happens that either late varieties do not have enough time to ripen, or gardeners do not have enough time and space for them. Yet these varieties have the right to grow in every garden.

You should not allocate more than 5-10% of the plot for late tomatoes.

It should be said that late varieties can withstand early frosts, but they can be removed from the bush unripe, they ripen well when stored, and remain fresh for up to 7 weeks.

Apples in the snow

The variety has limited shoot growth; they are rarely higher than 40 cm. The variety is early. Growing through seedlings is recommended. Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out from mid to late March. It is optimal to plant in open ground at the beginning of June, on the 5th - 10th. Ripening begins in mid-July. The variety bears fruit quite uniformly.

After fruiting ends at the end of July, you can remove the tops from the garden. The fruits are not particularly large in size, usually more than 60–70 grams, but all are uniform in shape and size.

The color is bright red, there is no green spot near the stalk. The skin is thin, the taste is good. It is worth noting that the variety can be sown in open ground at the end of May.

Then the fruits ripen on time, like mid-ripening varieties.

Wonder of the earth

A medium variety of Siberian selection, which is rightly called the Miracle of the Earth. The size of these tomatoes can easily exceed 1,000 g. The average weight of the fruit is 500 g. The color is pink, the shape is slightly elongated. The taste is excellent. The bushes are powerful, with unlimited growth, easily reaching 2 meters. The variety needs gartering and regular removal of stepsons.

It is necessary to provide for the installation of trellises in advance to secure the shoots. Sowing of seedlings should be done 50 - 60 days before planting in the ground.

If tomatoes are planted in the garden on July 10-12, then seedlings will be sown in early April. Features of cultivation include the introduction of mineral and organic fertilizers during the period of growth, flowering, and fruiting.

Long–Kieper

This is a late variety and is distinguished by the fact that when ripe, only tomatoes from the lower tier of branches can be removed. The rest are picked unripe; it is best to have time to harvest tomatoes of this variety at the stage of milk ripeness. This must be done together with the stalk. Only store whole, undamaged fruits. Clean boxes are suitable for storage and ripening.

The bottom of the box is covered with clean paper. Each layer is also covered with a paper sheet. The room should not only be dry, but also well ventilated. According to the stated characteristics, the fruits of the Long Keeper variety can be stored all winter. According to reviews from gardeners, they last until the first days of December without any problems.

The bushes are 100 cm high, sometimes growing slightly higher. It needs to be tied to posts or trellis. The average fruit size is 100 - 120 grams, individual specimens can weigh up to 250 grams. The color is milky white. At the stage of full ripeness - orange.

Category: Useful information

Among the best varieties of tomatoes for Siberia in the greenhouse there are both varietal tomatoes and hybrids.

Varietal varieties are valued for their good adaptation to the climatic conditions of Siberia, excellent taste, and the ability to independently procure seed material.

Hybrids are more resistant to tomato diseases, bear fruit consistently, but are not able to produce seed material and are generally classified as tomatoes with good taste.

When developing new varieties, Siberian breeders try to adapt tomatoes to local conditions: short, often rainy summers, low temperatures in spring and early autumn. If varieties are intended for film shelters, then they usually feel great in greenhouses.

We will introduce you to the varieties included in the State Register. The best Siberian tomato varieties for greenhouses include, first of all, the developments of the West Siberian Vegetable Experimental Station VNIIO from Barnaul:

  • Siberian early ripening. Salad variety with low growing bushes. Inflorescences contain 3-5 fruits. The fruits are slightly ribbed. In the first two weeks of fruiting it produces 20-40% of the harvest.
  • Picket. The early-ripening variety is suitable for the fresh table and whole-fruit canning. Medium-branched bushes 75 cm high. Fruits are slightly ribbed, with a spout and 2-3 nests.
  • Countryman. Designed for salads and whole-fruit canning. Plant height is 70-76 cm. The fruits are glossy with 2-3 nests. The total sugar content is about 3%.

Growing large and long tomatoes

Seeds of Minusinsk tomatoes cannot be sown directly into the ground. They must be grown by seedlings, otherwise it will not be possible to achieve good germination of the seed. It is necessary to start preparing seedlings 60 days before transplanting young plants to a permanent place of growth. To grow seedlings, it is recommended to use special deep boxes, peat boxes or flowerpots; it is better to take ready-made universal soil for this purpose. It is necessary to ensure that the soil temperature does not fall below +22 degrees, otherwise the seedlings may die.

In the open ground

It is recommended to sow the seeds of this hybrid for seedlings in early or mid-March. To grow young viable plants you need:

Properly prepare a glass of seeds for planting. To do this, they need to be placed in a cloth moistened with warm, pure water for a day.

Prepare the soil for seedlings. If you use a ready-made mixture from the store, just bake it in the oven

It is important that its temperature is not lower than 22 degrees at the time of sowing the seed. If you use soil collected from your own local area, it must first be treated with a weak solution of potassium permanganate to disinfect it.

You can read about the proper cultivation of tomatoes in open ground in this material.

  • Seeds are sown in seedling pots at a distance of 2 cm from each other, they are buried 1 cm into the ground. After this, the seedlings are watered and covered with film or glass.
  • After the first shoots appear in the pots, the film will need to be removed. The seedlings themselves should then be watered once a week. Also during this period it is necessary to create temperature fluctuations for tomatoes. Boxes with them should be frequently moved from one place to another so that the temperature readings change. This needs to be done daily.
  • As soon as the plants have 2 true leaves, the seedlings need to be pricked. Viable, strong plants should be planted in separate pots. Two weeks after this, the plants are fed with a nitrophoska solution.
  • Before transplanting tomatoes to a permanent growing location, the crop must be hardened off. To begin with, flowerpots with young tomatoes should be taken outside for an hour; over time, this time should be increased.
  • As the bush grows, it needs to be pinched. The top must be trimmed so that it produces shoots. The side branches must be gradually cut off so that they do not take away the vitality of the plant.

After the plant has at least 8 leaves and one true inflorescence, it needs to be transplanted to a permanent place of growth. Small holes up to 12 cm deep are prepared for plants. They are arranged in a checkerboard pattern so that there are no more than 3 plants per 1 square meter. The tomatoes are transplanted into holes together with a lump of earth, dug in, leaving a small depression around the plant, and watered again.

After planting the plants on the ground, they need to be provided with the following care:

  • plucking a bush;
  • mulching the soil;
  • watering at least once a week;
  • fertilizing with mineral fertilizers 2 times during the flowering period and 2 times during the growing season.

Preparing seedlings

All plants must be planted in a permanent place from seedlings. If it is not a hybrid, then you can collect your own seeds; otherwise, seed material must be purchased at markets or breeding stations. Before planting, the seeds must be prepared for sowing and conditions suitable for development must be created.

First, prepare the soil, which includes:

  • garden soil;
  • peat;
  • humus;
  • ash;

It is recommended to buy planting material from a well-trusted company that sells seeds. The entire seed fund is treated with hydrogen peroxide or a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Plant the seeds in boxes filled with soil to a depth of 20 mm. The soil should contain organic and nitrogen fertilizers. Watering the planting material is done using a watering can. The water should be at room temperature.

After this, the boxes are covered with glass, and the temperature in the room is raised to 24... 25°C.

It is maintained at the specified level until the first shoots appear in 7-8 days. Then the temperature is reduced by 4-5°C. The glass is removed. Water the seedlings with warm water and feed them with manure or peat. The container with plants is moved to a well-lit place, or boxes are placed under electric lamps.

A week before this date they are hardened. The soil in the beds is loosened and complex mineral fertilizers are added to it. The sprouts are watered with warm water and then covered with warm material so that they do not die from a sudden drop in temperature. The format for planting young bushes is 0.4 × 0.5 or 0.5 × 0.5 m.
