Exotic tomatoes in your beds - Cherry Negro tomato F1: description of the variety, reviews of seeds

This interesting hybrid positively combines 2 fashionable trends in gardening - the passion of summer residents for Cherry tomatoes and the profit in planting varieties with unusual dark fruits. In addition to their original appearance, they contain an inflated level of vitamins and other substances beneficial to the human body. The tomato with the loud name “Cherry Negro” best combines all the best qualities of dark-fruited vegetables.

Description and characteristics of the variety

In 2015, the hybrid was included in the State Register. There it is called "Cerrinegro".

Cherry Negro F1 tomato from Semko is an indeterminate bush that does not stop growing when the fruit begins to ripen and can reach two meters in height. The harvest ripens early - 85-95 days after seedlings appear. The brushes strewn with tomatoes contain 15-20 of them and look like grapes.

The fruits are small, 25-30 g each. Their dark shade varies from brownish-brown to dark cherry, thin green stripes are noticeable. The shape is elongated, ovoid. There are 2 seed chambers inside. The pulp is sweet and tasty, very juicy, and has a pronounced spicy aroma. The skin is smooth and durable.

The dark hue of the fruits is due to anthocyanins - substances that give eggplants their purple color. Anthocyanin is a natural antioxidant that prevents disease and slows down aging.

Typical signs

The fruits of Cherry Negro F1 are oval, weighing 25 - 35 grams, with a diameter of 3 cm. They are collected in charming multifruit clusters bearing 10 - 15 “cherries”. The stalks are very short. The surface of the tomatoes is flat and smooth. The color is very complex, unusual: dark dark red, closer to a brown tone. Dark green stripes appear slightly against the general background.

The dry matter content of the fruit is very high. The result is a very rich taste - spicy, sweetish, with piquant aromatic notes. The tomatoes are firm, but not tough at all. They don’t burst when salted and keep their shape well. Despite their tiny size, the “babies” can be stored for a very long time even when ripe, especially when picked from tassels. When picked green, they ripen well.

Black tomatoes are rich in unique biological compounds. In addition to the traditional set of nutrients for tomatoes (lycopene, beta-carotene, vitamin C), they contain anthocyanins - natural antioxidants, the true usefulness of which has yet to be studied by science.

The bushes are indeterminate, tall. It is easier to grow them in greenhouses, but the fruits ripen well in the open air. In any case, the stems need a strong garter and high support. The leaf plates are of medium size. In width, the bushes do not take up much space, they are very compact. The internodes are close together, the brushes are densely spaced.

Plants form into one stem, removing all side branches. In this case, the planting pattern can be 70 x 40 cm. The top of the tomato is pinched at the end of the season. The bushes look very elegant all summer. They can become an original element of garden design, especially in company with Cherry tomatoes of other colors.

Despite its high growth, the Cherry Negro F1 tomato is early ripening. The first tomatoes are colored already 85 days after the emergence of mass shoots. The brushes begin to form early - there are 7 - 9 leaves in the axil. The yield of the harvest lasts a long time, until the end of the season.

The sweet taste of the fruit remains even in cool weather. From one square meter of plantings in a greenhouse, 10–12 kg of “cherry” fruits are collected, in open ground - a little less.

Tomatoes set well both indoors and outdoors. Plants calmly survive any temperature stress or bad weather. Cherry Negro F1 tomato bushes are not affected by viruses (tobacco mosaic, yellow leaf curl). They do not suffer from fusarium and verticillium wilt.

Cherry Negro F1 tomatoes are grown not only for fun. They are truly healthy, tasty and very productive. In the extensive tomato family of modern varieties, there is another plum-shaped “negotiator” - the hybrid tomato Negro Pragna F1.

In terms of nutritional content, spicy-sweet taste and oval shape, it is similar to Cherry Negro F1, but has many individual characteristics.

Taste and cultivation

Tomato varieties have early, medium and late ripening periods. 7% of all species retained extended periods of fruit ripening. Therefore, the first harvest is harvested in mid-July. Early and mid-season varieties can be found, but this is problematic.

Cherry cultivation is possible in open and closed ground conditions. Ampelous varieties are very successful. Specially bred for development on balconies. There are also tomatoes that are suitable for growing on windowsills.

Cherryki have incredible taste. Most of the market offers vegetables with a bright, characteristic tomato taste. If you look, you can find unusual varieties. The taste has rich melon, blueberry and raspberry notes.

Reviews from summer residents about the hybrid

  1. Amur Rossinskaya, 30 years old:
I love, I love cherry tomatoes! And after getting acquainted with the Cherry Negro variety, I love black cherries. How delicious and sweet they are. I recommend it to all my neighbors in the country right now!
  2. Tomka, 34 years old:
I still love the unusual. And of course, after the seeds of various “cherryberries” appear in stores, I am happy to plant them in my own plot. I choose different varieties. Last year I also planted a black girl. So as not to write about the cart) (and the small cart), I will say briefly - Wow! Everything is superb about this great variety. Location, productivity, appearance – everything is top notch!

Secrets of successfully growing a hybrid

  1. A group of plants with only one stem. Removing the lower leaves and regularly removing all stepsons along the entire length of the shoot.
  2. The planting pattern should be 0.4 - 0.5 m between plants in a row and 0.7 - 1 m between rows.
  3. At the end of the active growth of the bushes, the tops of the tomato stems are pinched.
  4. Regular and careful braiding of vegetative shoots to the trellis or supports.
  5. Carrying out several preventive treatments during the (mushroom) season. A mixture of fungicide and insecticide is used to protect against pests and diseases.
  6. Treating the soil with the addition of organic matter (rotted manure) before planting.
  7. Sow seeds for seedlings in late February - early March.
  8. Infuse the seedlings with exclusively warm, preferably settled, water.

Classification of tomatoes by ripening time

Here, gardeners who are beginning “tomato growers” are not in for any surprises: like large-fruited varieties, cherry tomatoes, depending on the growing season, are divided into:

  1. Early ripening.
  2. Average.
  3. Late.

Clarification needed. The ripening time for dwarf tomatoes is extended and shifted; the first harvest of fruits will take place no earlier than mid-July. Therefore, summer residents, when finding out how much cherry seeds cost for planting and which variety to choose, should focus on these marginal indicators. But there are plenty of varieties of tomatoes for growing in a greenhouse, in a garden bed, even on a balcony or loggia. There is plenty to choose from.

Early

They are characterized by accelerated ripening (90-95 days), the formation of small, harmonious fruits. The Zolotoy variety has become quite widespread. The bush is low-growing, with branched tassels, each of which produces up to 40 tomatoes. The fruits are bright yellow, weighing up to 20 grams. From one square meter of planting it is possible to obtain up to 7 kilograms of ripe tomatoes. Excellent for canning and fresh consumption.

Mid-season

These tomatoes bear fruit in about 105 days. They have excellent taste and pink skin color. Sweetish, round tomatoes have become a common guest in summer cottages and greenhouses.

Late

Cherries of late varieties are the last to ripen (about 120 days). They can be grown in a greenhouse, ripening in late autumn. Typically, these tomatoes are stored well raw. And in salads and canned food they will be extremely tasty.

In addition to classification by ripening time, a division into varieties is also used - greenhouse and ground. And recently, special climbing (climbing) cherry tomatoes have appeared for growing on the balcony.

Color and shape

Everyone is used to seeing only red fruits.
But there are cherry tomatoes that have raspberry, yellow, green, black and orange colors. Ripe tomatoes have oval, round, teardrop-shaped and elongated shapes. The world saw the first fruits and a description of the variety back in 1973. Israeli scientists presented the first development. They wanted to develop a crop variety that would slowly ripen fruits in hot climates. The name of the vegetables comes from the English word cherry, which means “cherry” in Russian. And this is no coincidence, since tomatoes look like the fruits of this tree.

In recent years, the seed plant has released an extensive series of hybrid tomatoes of the Cherry type (with a fruit weight of 20–40 grams and a carpal type of ovary) onto the Russian market. All varieties from this series are early ripening, tall, and abundant.

They differ in the shape of the fruits and their color: elongated or round, of various colors (red, pink, raspberry, yellow, orange, chocolate, even striped). For example, Cherry Lisa F1 is oval orange, and Cherry Rose F1 is spherical pink. Cherry Tiger F1 tomatoes are similar to Cherry Negro F1 - also oval and chocolate in color, only with pronounced greenish stripes.

The Cherry Negro F1 tomato is recorded in the State Seed Registry as Cherrinegro F1. Registration date: 2015. This hybrid appeared quite recently, but has already earned praise from lovers of original tomatoes.

The possibilities for culinary use of Cherry Negro F1 are truly limitless: in fresh salads, as an independent side dish, for decorating various dishes, for whole-fruit pickling and canning, it is convenient to dry and dry like raisins, it is not forbidden to even make original jam or marmalade.

Cherry tomato varieties for greenhouses

Experienced summer residents successfully grow varieties not intended for this purpose in greenhouse conditions. They know the secret: proper planting with plenty of free space and timely stepsoning will lead to success. Another nuance concerns the purpose of cultivation. “Trifles” are used for preservation – any varieties with small fruit size. To eat fresh you will need larger tomatoes and hybrids.

Black cherry

The variety, both in name and in taste, corresponds to the original ideas of the breeders who bred dwarf tomatoes. Black cherry is similar in color to chocolate, as sweet as candy. It is a tall plant and grows both in greenhouses and in open ground.

The clusters are dense, densely dotted with fruits, like grapes. Fruiting period is 112-120 days. From each bush you get up to 5 kilograms of delicious food - dark, almost black, tender and juicy “cherries”.

Lycopa F1

An early hybrid. It has a characteristic fruit shape (ellipse), the color of the fruit is rich red. They contain lycopene and have a harmonious taste.

Kira F1

Early ripening cherry tomatoes. The fruits are ready for harvesting 90-95 days after planting. Equally well suited for growing in greenhouse conditions, in the garden. The tomatoes are round, golden-orange in color, weighing up to 50 grams. The taste is rich and harmonious.

Madeira variety

A hybrid that bears fruit, on average, 90 days after germination. Sensitive to the garter of bushes, the formation of shoots and vines, otherwise fruiting drops sharply. A little capricious, needs warmth and light, stable air humidity (up to 60%). The tomatoes grow as if by choice - identical in size, healthy and tasty.
