Tomato boni mm characteristics and description of the variety, yield with photo

Description of the variety

Boni MM tomatoes belong to the determinate type and grow in height up to 50–60 cm, stopping growing by the time the first inflorescence ripens. This characteristic allows the cultivation of bushes between tall tomato varieties. A standard, erect plant forms strong stems with many corrugated dark green leaves that do not separate the inflorescences.

Red, flat-round, slightly ribbed fruits weighing 50–70 g grow on an articulated stalk. They can weigh up to 100 g. Juicy, fleshy tomatoes have a characteristic, pure tomato taste. One bush produces up to 2 kg of harvest, and a square meter of plantings produces up to 7 kg.

Due to the elastic skin and dense structure of the pulp, picked tomatoes are stored for some time and transported without damage.

I was advertised for the Boni-MM tomato variety, who planted it, what is your opinion?

Vladimir Babin

. Boni MM. Gavrish, superdet (30-40 cm), red, 100 g, I can’t remember how many in the brush, but the bush was covered in tomatoes. I love it for: the earliest of all the tomatoes that I had, ripened earlier than the greenhouse ones, around the beginning of July, the taste was good, at that time it seemed like a blessing to finally eat my own tomato.

Minina Tatyana

good variety. Ultra early ripening. Not tall, no need to pin or tie up. The fruits are rather small, however. better for canning.

Elena Akentyeva

Two years ago I grew it almost in the OG (Moscow region) - not tall, but the fruits are small, which is true, that’s true. And last year it grew itself from fallen fruits, planted it in a barrel of waste, it turned out very well, the fruits are larger, sweeter (perhaps the hot summer had its effect). I collected the seeds and will try again this year. But there was nothing super-duper, just an ordinary early variety.

Variety "Boni M". Planted in 2009 Minimal care. The seedlings are strong, they turned red already in June in open ground. The neighbors were watching. Aesthetic. But, unfortunately, there is no taste.

Tomatoes Boni MM are really very good, here you can see the description and, if you wish, order Tomato Boni MM at Planting. ru, there is also an economical package of seeds there, more Tomato Boni-M series 1+1/25 pcs.

Elena Orlova

a good, low-growing tomato, only Gavrish wrote on the bags, you can sow directly into the ground, of course this is not true if you don’t live in the south, but it’s abundant and early ripening

Vera Shelest

I just tried it last year. Given the terrible heat and infrequent watering, they were perhaps the best of those planted in open ground. The variety is early and abundant. They turned out very tasty marinated in jars.

Growing

Boni MM tomatoes are sown in March, the date varies depending on the climatic conditions of the growing region.

It's time to pick seedlings - the appearance of the first leaves. During the procedure, it is worth pinching the central root, stimulating the formation of lateral processes. To avoid infection, it is recommended to use a powder root stimulator, which will improve the survival rate of seedlings.

At the age of one month, the seedlings begin to harden - reduce the temperature in the room, place them in the shade, take them to a ventilated greenhouse, or to the balcony. From sowing the seeds to planting the tomatoes, 55–60 days should pass.

After transplantation, the plants need to be provided with good lighting, soil moisture and an air temperature of 16–22 degrees Celsius.

Tomatoes of this variety are grown in a place exposed to sunlight and winds, on loose, moisture-permeable soils with the preliminary application of nutrients. Organic matter should be added in the fall.

The bushes are planted under film at intervals of 30 cm, the distance between rows is 50 cm. There are 8–9 plants per square meter.

Planting Boni MM on the north side of buildings and in the shade of fruit trees is not recommended.

Shortened ripening times make it possible to sow seeds directly into the garden bed after the soil has warmed up. The variety is also suitable for growing in a container on a loggia or balcony.

Has anyone grown Boni MM tomatoes by sowing them in open ground?

valentina

I planted and plant every year only through seedlings. Moscow region. Very productive, early, June. I haven’t planted seeds in the ground, I have little faith in success, because the weather is unpredictable.

Natalya Khrycheva (Utkina)

I planted seedlings this year, the shoots are good, friendly, I planted them on March 10, I plan to plant them in the ground, but under cover, I live in the Urals

Lesnaya

I tried to grow early ripening plants by sowing them in a greenhouse at the end of April for replanting later in the OG, and then it’s a little late in our region (Len. Region) ... late blight in August. If you live where spring is early (since you are going to sow outside in May) and the summer is hot, then perhaps it will be helpful.

Nellya Alpatova (Yatkevich)

The harvest will not be until mid-August. Although Boni MM are very early tomatoes, they write that they are planted in the ground. It will be more reliable through seedlings. And the bushes were worse. Actually only 2.

Features of care

The description of agricultural practices includes:

  • Frequently water the seedlings with settled water in the first week after planting. Then, the soil is moistened every 2–3 days.
  • Weeding weeds as they grow.
  • Twice a month the bushes are fed with complex fertilizers or herbal infusions, after which the soil surface is loosened.
  • Mulching to retain moisture and protect fruits from contamination at the beginning of tomato growth.

The yield of Boni MM will increase if you use the advice of experienced vegetable growers:

  • Abundant watering at the beginning of cultivation is accompanied by hilling. This technique stimulates the formation of new roots, strengthening the young plant.
  • To prevent rotting of drooping brushes, the soil is covered with a thick layer of mulch.
  • Removing leaves from the lower part of the trunk improves the flow of air to the roots and increases the supply of nutrition to the fruits.
  • In order to obtain more tomatoes, and earlier than the stated deadline, the stem is split and a wooden stick is inserted into the resulting hole.
  • The weight of the fruit will increase when the lower, small tomatoes are removed.

Advantages and disadvantages

The Boni MM tomato variety deserves the attention of a wide range of gardeners due to many advantages:

  • Ultra early ripening. The first fruits are ready for consumption 85 days after germination.
  • No need for pinching or tying. The exception is when the plant is overloaded with fruits.
  • Resistance to temperature changes.
  • Friendly maturation. Plantings yield a harvest within two weeks.
  • Possibility of growing tomatoes in open ground.
  • Easy to care for.
  • Resistance to fungal diseases even in rainy weather.
  • Presentation and transportability.

The few disadvantages of the Boni MM variety include:

  • negative attitude towards greenhouse conditions;
  • demanding on soil composition, intolerance to high acidity.

Harvest and storage

Growing tomatoes of the Boni MM variety is half the battle; the main thing is to properly dispose of such early fruits. The seed manufacturer claims the tomatoes as salad tomatoes, but consumers note their universal purpose.

In addition to fresh vegetable salads, soup dressing, pizza, ripe and green tomatoes are salted and canned for the winter. All kinds of sauces and tomato juice are especially successful.

The fruits of this vegetable crop are tasty and healthy: they contain minerals, vitamins, and acids. Traditional medicine calls for treating purulent wounds with Boni MM tomatoes due to the presence of a glycoalkaloid, an antibiotic agent.

If you choose the Boni MM tomato variety, you will get a harvest of delicious tomatoes without much hassle. The ultra-early ripening dates will be of interest to farmers and anyone involved in growing vegetables for commercial use.

Reviews from gardeners

Boni MM pleased me, first of all, with its fast ripening (Super early variety!) and at the same time, good taste of the fruit. The bush is determinate, low (up to 0.4 m), does not require pinching, with a large number of fruits. The fruits are red, have a classic “tomato” shape with a ribbed surface, medium-sized (weighing about 100g), covered with loose skin (some fruits cracked on the bush, apparently due to excessive watering), and taste sweet and sour. Boni MM planted the seeds for seedlings in mid-March 2014 (according to experience, it was too early, the plants outgrew and began to bloom on the windowsill), planted them in the greenhouse on May 9, 2014, the first ripe fruits were picked ALREADY at the END OF JUNE 2014. They continued to sing until the beginning of September 2014. They are stored not for long, they were eaten fresh with pleasure and used for salads. Despite the average taste of Boni MM fruits, this variety still became one of the favorites in our family, since we started eating the fruits at the END OF JUNE, when many gardeners are just beginning to produce cucumbers.

I highly recommend it for those who are short on time. Tomato Boni MM grows as a compact bush and does not require the formation and removal of stepsons. The fruits ripen very quickly. Can be grown in beds with shelter from spring frosts. In summer, in the open sun, the fruits are most delicious.

I planted the Boni MM tomato seedlings in mid-March. Germination is not very good. The planted seeds sprouted in full within four weeks. Planted in the ground on May 9, they tolerated the cool May weather of the Urals well. The bush is determinate, its height is about 0.5 m and does not require pinching. As soon as the weather warmed up, the tomatoes began to set fruit and in mid-July we ate a salad made from our own grown tomatoes. The taste is pleasant sweet and sour. The fruits are small in size; you need 3–4 pieces per salad plate. The thin skin of the tomato is a plus for making salad. I recommend tomatoes so that you can try your harvest as early as possible and treat your loved ones with your own tomatoes grown in the Urals, Siberia and central Russia.

I didn’t really like the “Boni MM” tomato, since the tomatoes are not large, the only advantage is that they ripen early, we harvested the “Boni MM” tomato in mid-June, we didn’t even believe that they ripened so early, but we also planted this tomato - On May 1, under shelter from spring frosts and winds, during this time the small bushes grew and produced a harvest, the taste is good, not sour, the tomatoes are dense, sugary. The tomato is most likely suitable for the northern regions of the country, where the summer is too short and the tomatoes do not have time to ripen before late blight. Accordingly, in order to eat sun-ripened tomatoes before late blight, I recommend planting several bushes.

In fact: the first tomatoes ripened on June 25 when sown on March 3. In the greenhouse. Weight 80–90 g - these are the first ones, then smaller ones. The first tomatoes had no seeds at all. I didn’t process it with anything. In seedlings it was stocky and low. When I planted it, I didn’t tie it up at first - when it inflated the tomatoes, it fell over and I had to tie it up. I didn’t stepchild.

When planted in February, small ones ripen in June, not very tasty, but they are the first and therefore delicious. The harvest is given away in unison, and by the time real tomatoes appear, I am already harvesting the bushes. I plant it in one line, I don’t tie it up. I immediately sow daikon in place of the pulled out bushes. I won't be planting this year. I get pink Stella just as early, but the taste and yield are not comparable.

The Boni MM tomato has good taste and yield, resistance to diseases and extreme environmental conditions. It cannot be recommended as the only variety on the site, but in an assortment with others its presence is quite justified.
