A popular new product among breeders is the Lyubasha tomato: description of the variety, advice from summer residents

Description of the hybrid

The “Lyubasha” F1 tomato owes its appearance to the specialists of TC “Leader” (agro). Originator: Oleg Dmitrievich Kiramov.

Packages of seeds from (see photos) are also on sale.

The application for admission was submitted in 2021, and in 2021 the hybrid was registered in the catalog of the State Register of the Russian Federation. Recommended for planting in beds, as well as in film shelters. Judging by the reviews of summer residents, it grows well in polycarbonate greenhouses, as well as in small compact tunnels under covering material.

CategoryFirst generation hybrid F1
PurposeUniversal. Suitable for salads, pickling, canning, freezing, drying
Ripening periodUltra early
Plant typeDeterminant
Cultivation conditionsGreenhouses, open ground ridges
Plant height70-80 cm (in greenhouses reaches approximately 1 meter)

The leaf blades are dark green and small in size. The foliage is average. Forms simple inflorescences, the first appears about 5-6 leaves. On average, a cluster contains 6-8 beautiful, aligned fruits. Up to five clusters are formed on one plant.

The manufacturer notes the hybrid’s particular resistance to major crop diseases (see video review from).

The tomato shows tolerance to late blight, Alternaria blight, and tobacco mosaic virus. No crown rot is observed. Gardeners also emphasize that the fruits do not crack and ripen quickly and smoothly.

Formation is carried out in 2-3 trunks, which is usual for plants of this type. Requires installation of supports and garter. The hybrid is unpretentious, bears fruit well in any conditions, but if the rules of agricultural technology and proper regular fertilizing are followed, the yield indicators increase sharply.

Review: Zinaida, Kostroma

This is my second year growing Lyubasha. The most important thing is productivity! A bunch of beautiful tomatoes, strong and even. He is not sick with anything, stands like a Christmas tree, covered in tomato toys. I shoot them green, then they arrive in boxes.

They ripen, of course, for a long time, but gradually. It turns out that we eat fresh tomatoes until November. The taste in the rolls is good. This year I made both salted and marinated. They say that they are tasteless, but, most likely, they got the wrong tomato (a mismatch). I liked everything about this hybrid.

Planting tomatoes Lyubasha

Although the Lyubasha tomato variety is early ripening, in most regions it is recommended to grow it using seedlings. Only in the south of Russia is Lyubasha planted with seeds directly into the ground.

It is recommended to plant seedlings for seedlings approximately 1.5 months before the intended transplantation of seedlings to a permanent place.

After the seedlings have a pair of permanent leaves, it is advisable to plant them in separate containers filled with a nutrient substrate.

In this case, the seedlings will not need further fertilizing before transplanting into the garden. If the soil into which the plants were picked is not very nutritious, then 12-14 days after picking the seedlings are fed with organic matter.

A couple of weeks before transplanting grown Lyubasha tomato seedlings to a permanent place in a greenhouse or open ground, it is necessary to carry out a plant hardening procedure. To do this, in the first days, containers with plants are taken out into fresh air for 30-40 minutes, gradually increasing the time the seedlings stay outside. A few days before transplantation, Lyubasha seedlings can be left on the balcony or loggia for a day.

Plants are planted in pre-prepared beds, into which organic matter and mineral fertilizers are added. 4-5 plants are placed on each square of the area.

Fruit characteristics

The appearance of the hybrid's fruit-bearing bushes is impressive. There are a lot of tomatoes, their shape is even, the skin is smooth and shiny. In the phase of technical ripeness, the color is green; when fully ripe, it is deep red.

The pulp is dense, there are few seeds. The taste is pleasant, sweetish. Those who grew them compare them with Dutch hybrids, noting the superiority of domestic early tomatoes in terms of taste.

The fruits are used in salads and various preparations:

  • pickles;
  • marinades;
  • making juice, paste;
  • drying.

Due to their dense pulp, tomatoes hold their shape perfectly, look beautiful in jars, and do not burst. The hybrid is suitable for assorted dishes: with cucumbers, squash, zucchini, sweet peppers. Stored well and suitable for transportation. Even after 3-4 weeks of storage they do not lose their taste or shape.

Varietal characteristics

Lyubasha is an early determinate hybrid. It takes 70 days from germination to fruit appearance. Fruiting is uniform, 7-8 tomatoes are formed on simple inflorescences. The first brush is laid after the 5th sheet.

Lyubasha tomatoes are resistant to:

  • cracking,
  • late blight.

When growing a crop with 3 stems and placing 5 plants per 1 m², the yield is:

  • 14-15 kg – in a film greenhouse;
  • 10-11 kg – in open ground.

Compared to the characteristics and descriptions of other tomato varieties and early hybrids, Lyubasha has a number of advantages; it is easy to grow even for novice gardeners.

Agricultural technology: how to get a high yield

The State Register contains data that the average yield of the Lyubasha hybrid is up to 18-20 kg per square meter. In fact, the figures are lower (see the table in the first section of the article, where a description of the variety is given), but they are also impressive.

The only remark to the above: you can get such a harvest only if you follow the correct agricultural technology and take into account the characteristics of determinate tomatoes.

We grow seedlings

The key to a future excellent harvest is healthy planting material. In most regions of Russia, tomatoes are grown in seedlings, sowing the crop in boxes or pots at home. The approximate time frame for an ultra-early hybrid is mid or late March, but do not forget about the climate of a particular area and growing conditions (in beds, in a greenhouse).

RegionApproximate dates
Middle zone, Moscow region1st-2nd decade of March
Siberia, Ural2nd-3rd decade of March, first days of April
Northwest3rd decade of March
Southern regions of Russia1-2 ten days of February (subject to growing seedlings)

Data for the southern regions is given for information and comparison. Usually, tomato seeds are sown there directly on the beds, without growing seedlings.

Mandatory preparatory activities:

  • disinfection;
  • soaking in a growth stimulator.

Sow directly into separate cups or first into common containers, followed by picking. Prepare the soil yourself or purchase a nutrient mixture in stores.

Characteristics and description

Hybrid tomatoes Lyubasha in the description on the packaging are characterized as determinant. The standard type of bush structure limits the growth of plants without human intervention, which guarantees an earlier ripening of the first fruits.

Typical characteristics of Lyubasha F1 bushes:

  • plant height does not exceed 1 m;
  • medium degree of foliage;
  • leaves of a rich dark green hue;
  • strong stems and shoots;
  • The bush forms up to 5 clusters of tomatoes.

The photo best describes the appearance of the Lyubasha tomato fruit, but it is worth highlighting a number of common features:

  • the average size;
  • rounded, smooth shape;
  • dense glossy surface;
  • weight 0.10-0.12 kg;
  • red color of the skin when ripe;
  • increased pulp density;
  • wide seed chambers;
  • The taste is rich, with pronounced sourness.

In appearance and ripening time, the hybrid is similar to the Turbojet, Verlioka, Evpator and Blagovest tomatoes.

Characteristics of the variety

Tomatoes that are the same size ripen at the same time.

Main characteristics of the fruit:

  • The first fruits weigh about 200 grams. Subsequent vegetables - less;
  • The shape of tomatoes is round, slightly flattened;
  • Ripe tomatoes acquire a distinct red color;
  • Tomatoes are not prone to overgrowing;
  • The surface is smooth with a dense peel;
  • The pulp tastes juicy and tender. The fruits have excellent taste;
  • Vegetables can be stored for a long time and also withstand transportation.

Features of cultivation and storage

Tomatoes like light, breathable soil. To impart such qualities to the soil, peat, compost and ash are added to the beds. Mulching with hay or straw in the garden improves the nutritional characteristics of the soil and prevents the leaching of useful substances. Fruiting occurs in a short time; Lyubasha f1 produces the bulk of the harvest almost at once, which is very convenient for processing.

The hybrid is prone to late blight. Crop rotation will help to avoid infection; you should not plant tomatoes after other tomatoes. The best predecessors: legumes, cucumbers, zucchini, carrots, beets.

The dense consistency of the pulp allows the harvested crop to be transported and stored for a long time. For storage, tomatoes are laid out in rows in wooden or plastic boxes. The room should be ventilated, dark and cool.

Description of the variety

The maximum growth of the Lyubasha bush reaches 1-1.2 m. The leaves are small and have a rich green color. The fruits themselves are round, do not exceed 150 g, and their color is bright red. Up to 7 tomatoes are formed on each of 5-6 branches. They ripen approximately 60-75 days after planting.

Technical features of the plant:

  • Variety – early;
  • Productivity – about 17 kg/m2;
  • High resistance against various diseases, transportability;
  • Taste – sweetish;
  • Withstands various weather conditions;
  • Use for sale, pickling, canning and consumption in its pure form.

Advantages and disadvantages

Experienced summer residents cite the following advantages of the hybrid tomato variety Lyubasha:

  • Early fruit ripening;
  • Resistance of culture to various diseases and climate changes;
  • Bright taste;
  • The shape of the fruit is even, without flaws;
  • High yield, often up to 4 kg per seedling;
  • Variety of uses.

Disadvantages include the need for:

  • tying stems for comfortable ripening;
  • forming a plant into 2-3 stems;
  • carrying out stepsoning.
