Early ripening (85-90 days from germination to the beginning of ripening), determinate, unpretentious tomato hybrid for open ground, film shelters and greenhouses.

The bush is sparsely leafed, 65-80 cm high in the greenhouse and about 120 cm in the greenhouse. Plants themselves limit growth after the formation of the 5th inflorescence.

When grown in open ground without a garter, the plant does not need to be pinched, but ripening will begin later. It’s better to remove the stepsons before the first flower cluster.

The fruits are round with a “spout” on the bottom, smooth, medium density, red in color at maturity, weighing 150-200 grams , juicy, good taste. Not prone to cracking. Country of origin and growing regions

Russian breeders participated in the creation of the variety. The variety quickly gained popularity and spread throughout the country. Entered into the State Register in 2008.

Characteristics and description of the variety

This is an early variety, the fruits of which can be harvested 85–100 days after emergence. This determinate plant forms a powerful, weakly leafy standard bush from 0.5 m in height.

In greenhouse conditions it can grow up to 1.2 m, but in open beds it is shorter. Stops growing after the appearance of the fifth inflorescence. The variety is unpretentious and resistant to temperature changes and hot weather, has good immunity and, due to its early ripening, does not have time to be affected by late blight.

Productivity

When creating favorable conditions and proper care, the yield can reach 10 kg per 1 m². Sometimes up to 5 kg of products are collected from one bush.

Pay attention to other varieties of determinate tomatoes:

Description of the fruit

Each cluster bears 5–6 one-dimensional red fruits. They have a rounded shape, slight ribbing and a characteristic spout, which may be absent in bad weather conditions. Small fruits of moderate density and an average weight of 150–200 g have 6 seed chambers. The pulp is tender and sweetish, melts in your mouth. Small tomatoes are great for preparing a variety of dishes and canning.

Features of cultivation and storage

My love is planted in temperate northern latitudes under film. In Crimea, the North Caucasus, and Krasnodar, tomatoes are grown on open plantations.

The beds are located in a sunny place. 5-6 bushes are placed per 1 m2.

What are the nuances of care:

  • no need to stepchild;
  • tied to strong supports;
  • Fertilize during flowering and ripening.

Remove at the reddening stage. Ripe tomatoes are stored cool and dark. Shelf life up to 1 month.

The opinion of summer residents about the Lyubov tomato

Inga, Chelyabinsk:

“For the second season I choose this hybrid. Its description on the bag completely coincides with reality. The only thing I would like to note is that ripened tomatoes have a more harmonious and sweet taste. Last year, I didn’t guess with the timing of planting, I picked brown tomatoes, which were ripe, but inferior in taste to the current ones, which ripened right on the bushes.”

Orchid (Orchidaceae). Description, types and care of orchids

Elena, Moscow region:

“Love planted this spring because many of my friends are absolutely delighted with this hybrid. I was pleased with the yield - a prolific hybrid. I took care of it in the standard way, as I take care of all “children,” I form not 2 trunks, but 3 – for more complete use of the greenhouse space.”

Elena, Saransk:

“Love F1 planted for the first time. I grew tomatoes in a greenhouse, they grew a lot, and I was pleased with the yield. I liked the round, tasty tomatoes.”

Galina, Moscow:

“The taste of the tomatoes was not amazing, the most ordinary - no better than store-bought tomatoes. The tomatoes began to ripen quite late, and not as the description states. I will not grow this hybrid again.”

Description of the tomato variety Lyubov

Tomato Love is the development of Yuri Ivanovich Pantchev, who mainly deals with tomatoes and peppers. The hybrid was registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation in 2006 and is intended for planting in any region. It is recommended for personal subsidiary plots and other small-scale farms; it is grown both in unprotected soil and under film covers: depending on the climate of the region, one or the other option is more suitable.

The Lyubov tomato is a determinate variety, but the bush, especially in a greenhouse, can grow quite tall - more than a meter. Therefore, plant formation and stem tying are necessary procedures.

The leaves are green and of normal size. The first flower cluster is formed after the seventh or eighth leaf, the next ones after one or two. 5-6 tomatoes are formed in the brush.

In terms of harvest ripening, the tomato is mid-season. The tomatoes are medium-sized, weighing 50–75 g, regular round in shape, with barely noticeable ribbing. No cracking is observed. When ripe, they are colored red and contain 4 or more seed nests. The taste is rated excellent. The main use is for salads, but the shape and size of the tomatoes allow them to be preserved as a whole.

The yield of the hybrid is average, just over 5 kg/m2. It has increased resistance to diseases, especially resistant to verticillium and fusarium. No cracking of the fruits was observed even in damp weather or when left on the bushes.

Growing tomatoes

The variety is suitable for cultivation in open ground or in a greenhouse.

How to prepare seeds?

No special seed preparation is required. To improve germination, seed material is soaked in water at room temperature for 12 hours. “Awakened” seeds grow faster when they fall into the ground.

In order to increase plant immunity, pre-planting seeds are treated with growth stimulants “Gumat” and “Agrofil”. As an economical option, you can use a weak solution of potassium permanganate. It destroys surface microbes and protects seedlings at an early stage of the growing season.

Sowing seed material

Seeds are sown from March 20 to April 10, approximately 50-60 days before the intended planting in the ground. Practice shows that the rush to sow is unjustified. When planting seeds late, plants grow faster due to more solar energy consumed. Therefore, seedlings sown in the 1st decade of April catch up with seedlings sown at the end of March by the beginning of May.

Any container with a depth of more than 5 cm, equipped with drainage holes, can be used as containers.

The most popular packaging options:

  • Wooden boxes;
  • Containers for sweets or cookies;
  • Cut plastic bottles;
  • “Chests” made of tetrapacks.

The variety “My Love” is sown using the ribbon method. To do this, grooves are made in the ground at intervals of 3 cm. Seed material is placed in them to a depth of 1 cm, then the soil is leveled, watered abundantly and the box is covered with film. After about 5 days, when the first shoots appear, the film is removed and the plants are taken to a cool room for several days for hardening.

Optimal environmental characteristics for seedling growth:

  • Humidity – 60%;
  • Temperature under the film – 28-30*C;
  • Hardening mode – 15-18*C;
  • The temperature the rest of the time before disembarkation is 22-24*C.

Picking is carried out at the stage of formation of the third true leaf. For picking, you can use 400 ml plastic glasses with drainage, but the best option is separate peat pots.

Rules for planting seedlings

After two months, the seedlings are transplanted to a permanent place. The soil at this moment should already be warmed up to 12*C. Before planting seedlings, the bed must be properly prepared :

  • A month before planting, apply mineral fertilizers at the rate of: 60 grams of superphosphate and potassium sulfate, and 40 grams of ammonium sulfate per 1 sq.m of plot;
  • Prepare planting holes or furrows 15 cm deep;
  • A couple of days before planting, add Borofoska fertilizer to the holes.

Recommended planting pattern:

  • The interval between bushes is 40-50 cm;
  • Row spacing – 70 cm;
  • The distance from the bottom sheet to the ground surface is 5 cm;
  • Planting density – no more than 3 plants per 1 sq.m.
